




Independence Day specials
Channels have lined up some special shows as part of the Independence Day celebrations. L’il Champs and Ladies Special on Zee TV will revolve around the theme of independence. On Ladies Special, contestants will crack jokes on netas while the little Champs will sing songs of patriotism. On Colors, the patriotic fervour will be seen in India’s Got Talent and Chhote Miyan, wherein the contestants’ acts will be dedicated to the Independence Day. On Sony, the theme is worked out in 10 Ka Dum, which has a episode with a dabbawala and a fisherwoman.
No Sach Ka Saamna for Munisha
Munisha Khatwani was all set to bare her soul on Sach Ka Saamna. She even had undergone the Polygraph test and was scheduled to shoot for the show. But she had to back out, due to some contractual issues with the channel. Says Munisha, “I wanted to be on the show because I thought it would be a different experience, but it’s not happening.” Currently, Munisha is co-hosting Teen Deviyan on Star News, maybe that is one of the reasons, but she is not divulging details. The tarot-card reader is also hosting a show Munisha Says on Rajshri.com.
Fear Factor back with new glam girls
Akshay Kumar will be back with 13 glam girls in season 2 of Fear Factor –Khatron Ke Khiladi on Colors. The girls who will be doing daredevil stunts in the show include the hot veejay Bruna Abdullah, Sushma Reddy, models Carol Gracias, Jesse Randhawa, Mandira Bedi, Nauheed Cyrusi, Rosa Catalano, Rupali Ganguly, Sonika Kaliraman, Shonal Nagrani, Pia Trivedi, Shveta Salve and Anushka Manchanda. Shot entirely in Cape Town, the show will be aired from next month, but the date is yet to be finalised.
Bhairavi Raichura is back
Bhairavi Raichura, who plays Anandi’s mother in the serial Balika Vadhu, has been missing from the show for quite some time. She was shown to be on a char dham ki yatra. In reality, she was on a family trip to Australia, which is why she was missing from the show. “I was in Australia for three weeks. It was a family trip and a much needed break. I made the most of it by participating in numerous adventure sports. The most terrific experience was skydiving from 14,000 ft altitude. It was a breathtaking freefall for 60 seconds,” she informs. A rejuvenated Bhairavi is all set to get back to playing Anandi’s mother and tackling the problems faced by her family. Her husband has sold a part of the land for Saguna’s wedding, which leds to a tense situation in the family.
Pati, Patni Aur Woh on Imagine
NDTV Imagine’s new reality show Pati, Patni Aur Woh is an adaptation of the hit international format by Love Productions called Baby Borrowers and is being produced by BBC Worldwide Productions India. The show has five celebrity couples, spending an entire month in a closed environment, monitored by cameras 24X7 which will capture their journey as they embark on a new life of discovery as first time parents. Taking on the parenting challenge are Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Chaudhary, Shilpa Saklani and Apurva Agnihotri, Rakhi Sawant and Elesh Parujanwala, Juhi Parmar and Sachin Shroff, Mouni Roy and Gaurav Chopra. The idea is test their love and how they stand together through the challenging, frustrating but rewarding experience of parenthood.
