




Uppi does a Dasavatharam in Dubai Babu
Dubai Babu, the Kannada remake of the Telugu hit Dubai Seenu, has Kannada superstar Upendra alias Uppi attempting a Dasavatharam. Uppi, who has always been open to experimentation, appears in all kinds of get-ups in a song in the movie. The song, which is about Karnataka and the Kannada language, sees Uppi trying as many as ten different appearances. While on one hand he becomes Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore, on the other hand he also appears sporting a long moustache and a Mysore Peta, the traditionally famous Mysore turban. He also appears with blonde hair.
Vishnuvardhan in Rajamanickam remake
Rajamanickam, the Mammootty-starrer blockbuster Malayalam movie directed by Anwar Rasheed, is all set to be remade in Kannada, with Vishnuvardhan as the hero. The most interesting thing is that the film would be Vishnuvardhan’s 199th film. Titled Naane Bere, Nanna Stylee Bere, the film would be produced by K.Manju and would be directed by Dinesh Babu. Earlier there was a buzz that Vishnuvardhan’s 199th film would be a remake of Rahul Rawail’s Hindi film Biwi O Biwi. But that hasn’t taken off and it would now be the Rajamanickam remake.
Tamil star Arya makes Malayalam debut
Tamil star Arya, who is at present basking in the glory of Naan Kadavul, is all set to make his entry into Malayalam cinema. An actor who has his roots in Kerala, Arya will be essaying a key role in the Mohanlal starrer Casanova, to be directed by Rosshan Andrrews. Casanova, produced by the Confident Group is Rosshan Andrrews’ third film after Udayanaanu Thaaram and Notebook. The big-budget movie, a romantic thriller, will have Mohanlal playing a Casanova kind of character, with Lakshmi Rai, Bhavana and Veyil fame Priyanka playing the lead ladies. There will also be some debutante actresses in key roles. The film will be shot extensively in foreign countries and the shoot will commence on April 5 in Vienna. Bobby and Sanjay, who had also done the script for Notebook, are in charge of the script for Casanova too.
