Shiney remanded to judicial custody till July 2

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, accused of raping his domestic help, was remanded to judicial custody till July two by a local court here.

Ahuja was remanded after the prosecution said that they want to investigate if the actor had consumed drugs or was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

The prosecution, in its remand application, also stated that the medical reports of both the accused and the victim were not yet ready and the blood report of the accused is yet to be taken.

Besides, Ahuja is not co-operating with the investigation, the prosecution claimed.

Defence lawyer, Shrikant Shivade, however, argued that the prosecution is seeking Ahuja's custody on speculative evidence.

"Shiney is a teetotaller and does not consume drugs. His urine and blood samples have already been taken by the police and thus his custody is not required," Shivade said.

He also said that Ahuja should not be handcuffed when being brought from the lockup to the court since he is not a terrorist or a dreaded criminal.

The magistrate asked Ahuja if he had any complaint against the police to which he said "no".

Shiney's maid is married by Zara on 2009-06-25 23:58:42.129381+05:30 Shiney is being prejudiced. He is being humiliated and the media has already branded him ‘guilty’. Spare a thought for him guys… What if he is innocent? Shiney's maid doesn't appear to be only 38 kgs and in the photograph she can be seen wearing a mangalsutra and green bangles. She may be married. The police should find out every detail about her background. I cannot believe that Shiney can put his future and his career at stake for a maid. He is a celebrity and that are chances of a frame up for an ulterior motive. Shiney's blood report has also confirmed that he was not drunk. The investigation should be fair and not prejudiced. The police should investigate the truth and not endeavor to build a watertight case against Shiney. Shiney should get a chance to prove his innocence and should not be tried outside the court.

There is certainly more to it than meets the eye. Treacherous women take advantage of societies bias against men in such cases.If proved wrong this woman should be severely punished to act as a deterent against such scheming characterless women who resort to such malicious tactics for financial gains.

Shiney Ahuja rape case by Qasim Khan on 2009-06-18 18:20:44.477263+05:30 I really feel sorry for Shiney Ahuja. I feel that the maid must have led Shiney on considering that he is quite an attractive man whereas she is a plain jane and then after having gone to bed she lost her nerve thinking that she may get pregnant and then shouted "wolf" i.e. "rape". These days with the laws loaded in favour of women what would one expect. A maid can very easily grab a well heeled guy by his nuts and ask for a huge amount of money. This world is changing and women all over are becoming increasingly devious. I feel that we need to be far more open-minded in such cases. Nothing after all has been proved yet. But hats off to Shiney's wife for standing up so strongly for her man.

For argument sake, what happens if the maid is telling a lie. Is she liable to make up all the the Shiney has suffered on account of her allegations?

He chose to screw a poor zhopadpati girl. Shamless to see how our televison channels are acting like a pimp to shiney. Framed, ploy etc. If a crime is committed by this man, let the police investigate without leaving loopholes (which I doubt knowing the mumbai police who support crooks because of money). Media should ensure that police, medical profession, government investigates in a right way and leave it to the court to decide. The girl could be poor, but some do have self esteem. Not every one is a whore in Bollywood or in Zhopadpatti's. But it is very amazing to see comments about frameup, ploy by the girl.
