Shemaroo readies Priyadarshan film
After the critically acclaimed thriller Manorama - 6 Feet Under, Shemaroo Films has already completed the shooting of their next project Mere Baap Pehle Aap. Produced by Raman Maroo and directed by Priyadarshan, the film has been shot in Goa, Kerala, and Chennai and in Mumbai. Filming of two songs is yet remaining, one of which would be shot in Mumbai and the second in picturesque foreign locales. Joining hands once again with Priyadarshan are his favourite actors Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal, Genelia D’souza, Om Puri with Shobhna, Archana Puran Singh and Rajpal Yadav filling up the cast.
The film has been co-produced by Ketan Maru and Mansi Maroo. Director of Photography Piyush Shah once again team ups with Priyadarshan and the sets are designed by Sabu Cyril. The songs of the film are composed by Vidyasagar (of Hulchul fame) and penned by Sameer. Choreographers for the film are Pony Verma, M.Prasanna, Bosco and Ceaser. The film is slated for release on 23 May.

Dasavathaaram- costliest film ever
Dasavathaaram starring Kamal Haasan, Mallika Sherawat, Assin and Jayapradha, being made simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telegu has Kamal Haasan playing ten unseen characters. The film produced by K.C. Ravikumar and produced by V. Ravichandran is supposed to be the costliest film ever made. The film being shot on various locales in Chennai, Washington DC, Orlando, Tokyo and Malaysia has music by Himesh Reshmmiya.The post-production of the film that has taken more than 10 months is the highlight of the film.

Aamir Khan as brand ambassador
Samsung Telecommunications India (STI) has appointed actor - director Aamir Khan its new brand ambassador for its mobile phones.The developemnt is incidentally Samsung’s competitor Nokia recently appointing Shah Rukh Khan as its brand ambassador.Samsung also launched five new mobile phone models with a new tagline - “Next is What?”, which will be used in its communication material.

Sony acquires world rights of 200 films from Shemaroo
Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India has acquired the worldwide satellite rights of more than 200 films from Shemaroo Entertainment, the original licencors of the films. The rights of these films have been acquired for a period of five years. Some of the movies are: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Jeans, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Mahaan, Hulmaa, Love In Shimla, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Oh Darling Yeh Hai Indiaand Maya Memsaab, Kajol starrer Udhar Ki Jindagi, Salman Khan’s Sanam Bewafa, Mallika Sherawat starrer Khwahishand Kis Kis Ki Kismat, Joroo Ka Ghulam, Zindagi Zindagi, Ek Nazar, Baaz - A Bird In Danger, Heer Ranjha, The Great Gambler, Benaam, Khuda Gawah, Do Raaste, Around The World, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Aaj-Ke-Sholay, Kuch Meetha Ho Jaaye, Shiva, Souten, Kaalia, Namak Halaal, Hadh Kar Di Aapne amongst others.

Ghatothkach- nearing completion
After the success of Bal Ganesh, Shemaroo Entertainment is busy gearing up for its next mega animation release Ghatothkach - Master of Magic. The film, a feature-length ‘Bollywood - Ishtyle’ musical animated film for the entire family is the story of Ghatothkach and his magical escapades. The film is interlaced with an interesting mix of magic, action, romance, comedy, fantasy and is complete with foot-tapping songs. The film will be released in seven languages and is supposed to be the biggest ever animation film of India. To ensure animation quality as per world standards, best talent from India, USA, Philippines and Canada have been utilised to make this film. The film is a co-production between Shemaroo Entertainment and Sun Animatics. The film is being directed by world-renowned Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who had earlier directed internationally acclaimed films like Pushpak, Appu Raja and Son of Alladin, amongst many others.

Ek Second - Jo Zindagi Badal De in Mauritius
The entire unit of Saroj Entertainment Pvt.
Ltd.’s Ek Second - Jo Zindagi Badal De jointly co-produced by Rachna Sunil Singh, Harbir Malik and Vicky Uberoi and directed by Parto Ghosh will leave for Mauritius on March 23 for a 40-day non-stop shooting schedule. Five songs and many other romantic, dramatic, emotional, action and other important scenes will be caned on the entire cast. The film stars Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, Nikita, Aman Varma. It introduces Moammar Rana (superstar of Pakistan) and Rosa Catalano. Being written by Amit Khan, the film has cinematography by Kumud Varma, art by Pradeep Singh, sound by Prakash Bhatia, editing by Sanjay Varma and choreography by Jojo Khan.

Shooting of Bachelor Party completed
The entire shooting of producers Faisal Kapadi and Arun Bhairav and director Ishan Trivedi’s Bachelor Party made under the banner of Globe Filmy Entertainment’s has been completed recently in a non-stop 42 shooting schedules in and around Mumbai locales like Tulip Star, Club Link, Nair Bungalow, Film City, Sankraman and Future Studios. The film stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Arbaaz Khan, Nauheed Cyrusi, Madhuri Bhattacharya, Ninad Kamat, Kunal Kumar and Sharad Saxena. Being written by Raghuvir Shekhawat and Arun Bhairav, cinematography by Sudhir Palsane, action by Mahmood Bakshi, choreography by Longie Fernandes, art by Ratan Suryawar and Murudar Sabat, sound by Anil Dubey, editing by Nitin Rokde, lyrics and music by Arun Bhairav.

Zindagi Tere Naam releasing in May
Shree Sai Pictures’ Zindagi Tere Naam is slated for May 2 release all over. The film brings together the romantic pair of Mithun Chakraborty and Ranjeeta after twenty two years. The film also stars new find Aseem Ali Khan, Priyanka Mehta and Aashish Mehta along with Sharad Saxena, Dalip Tahil, Supriya Karnik, Himani Shivpuri, Yatin Karyekar and Dia Mirza (in item number). Presented by Pavan Goyal and directed by Ashu Y. Trikha, the film has action by Abbas Ali, lyrics by Jalees Sherwani and Faaiz Anwar and music by Sajid-Wajid.

First copy out of Do Chehre
The first copy of Jai Viratra Entertainment Ltd.’s Do Chehre was out last week from Adlab. Produced by Manoj Nandwana and directed by Ashok Gaikwad, the film stars Shatrughan Sinha, Sunil Shetty, Krishna Abhishek, Monalisa, Kiran Kumar, Shakti Kapoor, Mohan Joshi, Shiva, Farha, Surendra Pal, Mohnish Bahl with Raveena Tandon, Negar Khan and Sahil Khan in special appearances.
