Sameera Reddy
Sameera Reddy loves dressing up, especially for wedding scenes! Understandably she was upbeat on the sets of Priyadarshan’s De Dhana Dhan in which she was decked up as a bride for her wedding scene in the film. Dressed in a magenta-coloured lehnga and choli laced with intricate work, what really caught Sameera’s fancy is the mehndi on her hands. It is for the first time that she has applied real mehendi. “Generally artistes quickly paint a red design on our hands which does not take much time. But Priyan (Priyadarshan) wanted me to apply real mehndi for my wedding scene. It’s quite cumbersome as it takes so long for it to dry and the red colour to emerge. Meanwhile, getting into one’s costumes can get quite tricky. But it was worth the effort,” says Sameera while blowing off some specks of the substance from her palms.

Sameera, who is working for the first time with Priyadarshan, and will also be seen in Nagesh Kukunoor’s Yeh Honsla, says that De Dhana Dhan’s one mad laugh-riot.

The film also stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, who play city simpletons wanting to become rich and are egged on by the two girls - Katrina Kaif and Sameera . Slotted for a Diwali release, the movie also features Chunky Pandey and Aditi Govitriker. According to Sameera, De Dhana Dhan, which is almost 40 per cent complete, has some awesome scenes shot at Mumbai’s Film City in December 2008 depicting a hotel getting flooded. The remaining film is slated to be shot over a month-long schedule in Singapore during April.
