The executive director, MTV and the bad man, the judge for Roadies auditions was in the city to launch MTV Roadies Cheat Code - the essential kit to cracking the Roadies auditions. On the occasion, the brain behind two much famed reality shows of the country, Roadies and Splitsvilla, gets chatty to unsheathe the much veiled side of his.
And this side, thankfully, is sans the scathing remarks and the impish looks so very characteristic to the much feared cum hated judge Raghu. In fact very few who get to witness it find this otherwise often projected cold and indifferent man as sensitive and warm as a poet. And that is what Raghu actually is all about. A lyricist in making, he enjoys writing songs and strumming the guitar. Now that is from where the I-know-it-all shrug got its confidence when at the auditions he caught hold of the ones faking their expertise in guitar playing.
Where to many this side of his is quite a revelation and appears extremely contradictory to the image he has been associated with of late, to Raghu both his sides work in perfect tandem and come to him naturally. "I won't say I am projected as a rude man. It would be a totally wrong expression. People react according to the situation they are in and when I audition I am in a situation where I can't help being rude. I don't fake rudeness. Anyone whose hopes to see something different are dashed, the moment a contestant steps in, don't you think has the right to be rude," says he.
Where the rudest man alive penning down lyrics is the ultimate chalk and cheese affair what more comes as a shock is the man is also spiritually inclined and enjoys reading the autobiographies of some of the greatest leaders. " I am a normal human being with certain likes and dislikes and reading autobiographies is one of them. Even rude people can read autobiographies if they like," quips he.
With Splitsvilla recently concluding and the promos of Roadies 6.0 propping every now and then on the television screen the ‘what next’ curiosity has already started bubbling inside the Roadies aficionados as well as aspirants. "What I hate the most is being predictable so I can just assure you of the fact that Roadies 6.0 is going to be much more darker. It will be more of a social experiment. The frequency of posing a dilemma for the contestants would be more and also it would be on a much more intense level," says he.
