Beero Bhaat Bharan Aayo, a landmark big-budget Rajasthani hit film after an interval of 20 years, depicts a sensitive story of the relationship of a sister with her dharm bhai.

Breaking the 20 years long lull in the field of production of a standard Rajasthani film since production of all-time superhit Rajasthani film Bai Chali Sasriye in 1988, now comes Anil Kulccheniya-directed new Rajasthani film Beero Bhaat Bharan Ne Aayo, featuring well-known Bollywood actor Milind Gunaji in a key role. The film depicts the relationship of a sister with her dharam bhai, amid vivid colours of Rajasthani culture, based on a story of universal appeal, emotion and action.

Produced under the banner of Sundaram Productions by Naresh Rathi and Yogita Sharma, the film has story-script-direction by Anil Kulccheniya, script-dialogues by Shirish Kumar, music by Sateesh Dehra, lyrics by Sudhakar Sharma, editing by Mayur Popat, cinematography by Mannu B. Jhaala and action by Mohmmad Bhai are the important credits of the first big-budget Rajasthani film in many years.

The film also features veteran Rajasthani film actress Neelu who has more than 40 films out of total 100 Rajasthani films produced during last 66 years since 1942. Others in the cast are Shirish Kumar, Shitij Kumar, Karamveer Chowdhry,Yudhishtar Bhati, Pradeep Maeoo, Khushboo Rajawat, Kavita Thakur, Naveen Borana, Noor Mohd., Neenad, Billo Gehlot, Kusum Shreemali, Brijbala Vyas, Suresh Gaur, Sanjeev Chauhan, Vijay Singh, Suneeta Mathur, Ashok Joshi and Rahul Shandilya.

It is to be noted that Anil Kulccheniya, director of popular TV serials like Koi Hai, Karishma Ka Karishma and Khushiyan telecast by Star Plus and Doordarshan, had produced his first Rajasthani film Kanhiyo with Arun Govil two years ago, which proved a flop. Not disheartened, he has made a bold come back with a mega-budget film with co-operation from many quarters, at a time of recession in film industry, due to prolonged impasse between film producers and multiplex owners. ..

Beero Bhaat Bharan Ne Aayo, with four prints, was released on June 5 at Sooraj cinema in Bikaner and at Lakshmi Tara in Nagaur and on June 19, at Manthan in Pali and at Jai Mandir in Beawar. At Sooraj cinema in Bikaner, the film with 90 per cent female audience (Rajasthani women in their colourful dresses thronged the cinemahall), made the biggest box office collection of

Rs. 1.40 lakhs in first week and in 4 weeks, Rs. 6 lakh; at Nagaur in first week: Rs. 1.20 lakh and in four weeks: Rs. 5 lakhs. The film was extensively ‘shot’ in and around Nagaur, besides Butati and Karauli.

With additional two prints, Kulcchenia , resorting to aggressive marketing with advance wide publicity, will be releasing the film, for the first time ever, at as many as four theatres in Jaipur in first week of August: at Koh-i-noor in Sanganer, at Lata in Jhotwara, at Milan in Vishwakarma and at Gayatri Mandir( Kanota} In the same month, he will be releasing the film at Jodhpur, Sikar, Udaipur, Jhunjhunu, Ajmer, Bhilwara and later, at Kota, Bundi and Jhalawar. For the first time, a Rajasthani film will be released at so many important stations across Rajasthan. The film is, on its way to make history.

More news on regional films please by Menaka Baskaran on 2009-08-10 04:27:43.132421+05:30 It is heart warming to read that the Rajashtan film industry has had a big hit. Hopefully this will mark the revival of the Rajashthan film industry. One of the incredible facts about Indian cinema is that it is not only defined by Hindi cinema (as much as the rest of the world believes). India should be proud that it is the only country in the world with (at the last count, sorry if I have left any out) at least 10 cinema industries! At a time when some countries in Europe are struggling to give life to their film industry which are taking a beating from Hollywood, it is fantastic that Indian cinema especially regional cinema continues to thrive despite the invasion from Hollywood and Bollywood. In South India, the regional films from Chennai, Andra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka have a vibrant and fresh life of their own. Tamil films have the second largest overseas market after Hindi. And in each regional market, their own stars are VERY huge. There will be pandemoniom on the streets if Rajini is spotted on the streets of Chennai. Even the Bollywood big stars will be elbowed out of the way for Rajini. It is the same with Telugu stars in their own state. With this in mind, I would like to request Screen to please devote more space to regional movies especially those from the South as they have a very large fan base. Have interviews with regioanal stars as one of the main stories in the lead home page. For instance, it is very sad that the Hindi speaking part of India has never seen the performance of Tamil actor Surya who is without doubt one of the best actors in Indian films today. India must be the only country in the world where the Hindi speaking part does not watch movies from the South. Before talking about Indian movies (and not just necessarily Hindi movies) taking on the world, how about if Indian movies from different regions of India are shown all over Indian and not just confined to the specific regions? So please treat regional movie news with the same importance as you would give Bollywood news and not just as an afterthought as it stands now.
