Here is another aspiring-to-be-an-actor-model standing at the doors of tinsel town, ready to knock. She was in college when modeling just happened to her. Yashica Keswani who was pursuing her degree in hospitality and business management in England never really thought that her part-time profession as a model will acquire the label of her occupation. But now as this 5 feet 9 inches damsel donned in a pair of denim, white tank T-shirt and linen jacket was in the city for the unveiling of the collection of auto brand pens she spoke with conviction about her future plans as a model in India and her passion for acting.
Moving back to India had always been on her mind as she avers India is home. “Modelling abroad was definitely a good experience but I always wanted to move back to India. One is always comfortable at one’s own place,” says Keswani. The ramp scorcher, who walked the ramp in UK and the US a number of times, has a lot to say about the current Indian fashion scenario.
“We are not aping the west. The very individual streak, that we have in the creation of our designers, makes the Indian fashion scene stand out. Even our fusion wear complements and supplements in the right sense,” elaborates Keswani.
The model who would love to flaunt Sabaysachi’s creations and Manish Malhotra’s Sarees is looking forward to being more active in the modelling world. “I have just returned to India and have to settle in. I am looking forward to getting involved in as much modelling assignments as I can.” And since modelling is a gateway to Bollywood, are her eyes trained that way too? “Well acting has always been a passion for me and if it carves a way to Bollywood why not?,” she asks. Why not indeed!
