Boy makes Jammu proud on Boogie Woogie
Twelve-year-old Piyush Bhagat, a Jammu boy, has brought laurels to the state after performing at India’s most popular dance show Boogie Woogie at Mumbai in a special episode to pay tribute to Michael Jackson.
A student of Class VI of Jodhamal Public School, Piyush was among the only six dancers selected from across the country to participate in the show by country’s top dancer and the show’s judge, Jaaved Jafferi. “I started dancing at the age of three at home and later joined the Movangan Dance Institute at Channi area near my house,” said Piyush. “My family, especially my elder sister, supported me a lot in my efforts and finally I performed in front of the camera for the first time.”
“Earlier, I was a little nervous. But Jaaved, Naved and Ravi sir gave me confidence and then I performed well,” said the enthusiastic boy, who has become famous in his school. Happy with her younger brother’s entry at the national level, Priyanka, Piyush’s sister, said that both of them are born dancers and she was also one of the best dancers in her school, but she quit due to studies. “I was more than happy when my brother got a chance to perform in Boogie Woogie,” said Priyanka. “I love dancing too, but it is just a hobby for me. I want Piyush should take it as career.”
Similarly, the man who taught him the dance steps, Piyush’s dance master Rahul Pandoh said that his student was selected in the north zone dance competition last month in a solo number and then his video clips were forwarded to Boogie Woogie’s website by Rahul. Soon, Piyush got a chance to dance at a national event.
Ajai Sinha to make a serial for STAR Plus
Ajai Sinha’s Ghar Ek Sapna may have ended as it couldn’t be stretched any longer. The show started out well but when the lead pair Ujjwal Rana and Sayantani Ghosh who were playing Samman and Kakul were replaced by Ankur Nayyar and Anisha Kapoor, it started showing a downward swing. Finally it was taken off air last month and replaced by Mr & Mrs Mishra . However, Sinha is now working on another yet-to-be titled show for Sahara One, the shooting for which is currently on. He is also in talks with STAR Plus for making a serial about an uneducated girl. According to sources, the show will be set in Rajasthan. When contacted, Sinha said, “If I make the serial for STAR, it will be my first for the channel.”
