Ironically, the photo had earned only a meagre amount of USD 25 for Madonna as modeling fee when she was still a struggling singer and dancer in New York in 1979, the 'People' magazine reported.
The particular picture, which will be auctioned by Christie is one of the six shots taken by photographer Lee Friedlander.
All the six pictures of Madonna were sold to 'Playboy magazine,' which published the particular snap in 1985. Madonna posed for the full frontal at the age of 20 after replying to Friedlander's newspaper ad in which he was looking for a nude model.
The auction house will also sell another semi-clothed picture of the singer which was clicked by Helmut Newton. The auction is expected to take place on February 12.
