Holi
Holi is celebrated with aplomb in Bollywood. On screen and off it

Raj Kapoor's Holi became a tradition, followed by Amitabh Bachchan's Holi gatherings.
Even Shah Rukh Khan hosted some colourful bashes. While the Khan's arm is in a sling this year, the Kapoors will not be hosting a Holi bash. But Gennext relates how they will celebrate Holi.

No hard colours
-Aarya and Juhi Babbar
The Holi that stands out in our minds is when we shifted into our bungalow and celebrated it there for the first time. Cement and mud was still lying around, as the house had just been constructed. So besides the pakka black and blue colours my uncle gets specially from UP for Holi we plastered cement on people's teeth! Even otherwise, Holi is one wild day when we don't spare anyone who comes home. No one can recognise themselves in the mirror after playing Holi in our house and it takes days for the colours to come off. This year may not be so wild because both of us cannot afford to have remnants of colour on our faces as we are shooting.
(Aarya shoots for Madhur Bhandarkar's film for Sony's Specials @ 10 and Juhi for Ghar Ki Baat).

Holi in Hyderabad
-Celina Jaitley
I come from an Army background where Holi is celebrated with great pomp and show. Even if you are posted on top of a mountain, the army folk know how to enjoy themselves on Holi. My most memorable Holi was when my brother Vikrant, put green industrial dye on my hair and I had bottle-green hair for three months! It took eight months to grow out. I miss not being with him on Holi. This Holi I am shooting for the Kannada and Tamil remakes of Aitraaz co-starring Upendra, in Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Shreyas Talpade and his wife Deepti are also there for Hook Ya Crook. So we will get together and have some fun. But honestly I miss Mumbai, my friends and my dogs. Somehow my doggies love Holi and they are the first ones to get coloured.

True Jashn
-Adhyayan Suman and Kangana Ranaut
We are from Bihar, but we never celebrate Holi the way it is celebrated back home. We get some red gulal and mom makes a delicacy or two. In the evenings I go out with friends. This year is different as I am attending a special Holi bash organised by the producers of Jashn. For once I will be going all out during the festival as it will be colour, bhang, food and fun. In the evening I will be going out with Kangana and other friends.

Bangkok and gujiyas
- Smilie Suri
We Suris play the wildest Holi you can imagine. Egg-shells, keechad and anything else that we could lay our hands on. In fact Mohit and our cousin Emraan Hashmi and their gang were the most dreaded in and around Pali Hill. Even though I hate Holi and am allergic to colour, I was pulled out of my hiding and dumped in mucky water. The most memorable during those days was the langhar by our neighbours, the Sharmas, where they served the choicest of Holi delicacies. This year Mohit is away holidaying in Bangkok so I guess it will be a quiet Holi for me as well unless Emraan drags me out. But I am waiting to hog the bhajiyas and gujiyas.

No play
-Tanushree Dutta
Back home in Jamshedpur, Holi used to be a huge festival. In Bihar, they have a traditional celebration with folk songs followed by dry colors and a lot of goodies including gujiya.
As kids, we would play Holi with great spirit. We would start by throwing bucketful of muddy water from the terrace, and balloons and wet colours followed. On Holi, there was a huge fountain in our colony. The society watchman would close the fountain and lock the pump-house, but we kids would sneak out the keys and get the fountains going. Then we would keep adding colour to it until the fountain spouted black colours in the end. But I haven't played Holi since the last 10 years ever since I developed an allergy to some colours.

A peaceful Holi
- Soha Ali Khan
On the sets of Tum Mile I was soaked all the time giving me the feeling I was playing. Holi 24/7. So I have decided to have a peaceful Holi this year. I will be celebrating Holi by lighting a diya and hiding from people. I don't want to get wet and dirty.
I associate Holi with Delhi where I grew up. In Delhi I have done it all - balloons, colours and worse than that. It wasn't only colours - but high-tech black and blue colours that just wouldn't come off! They threw maida and eggs and anything in the aggressive North from where I come.

Pool party
-Neha Dhupia
I celebrate Holi every year without fail. This year I am going to Goa with my family and friends, where we are having a big pool party. The first time I celebrated Holi outside my building compound I decided to have some bhaang. It hit me so bad that I slept for a day and a half! My advice is not to drink bhaang. The other is - do not resist friends when they put colour on you! Because when my friends wanted to dunk me in a tank of water I resisted and landed up hurting myself. I oil myself excessively before I start playing, which makes it easy to wash the colour away, but I do not hold back.
