This is not a fashion show, but a show hunting for the best in fashion. Nuon MTV Making The Cut, the new show will feature 16 models and eight designers competing to be the next big thing in Indian fashion. Designer Narendra Kumar heads a team of industry luminaries including judges, editor-in-chief of ELLE India Nonita Kalra and model-actress Dipannita Sharma as they decide who’s “in” and who’s “out”. Each episode will have a Bollywood celebrity as guests. Each week, Making The Cut’s group of experts will hand out tasks with new themes and new teams in a selection of challenges that will test the skills and imagination of the contestants to their limits. From Bollywood to street styles, from glitter to paper, and from swimwear to formal wear, designers rush to dress their showstoppers to perfection before they hit the runway. The first episode will have Lara Dutta. Other special guests include Neil Nitin Mukesh, Neha Dhupia, Celina Jaitley and Madhur Bhandarkar.

Yeh Rishta... to be a one-hour show
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai will become a one-hour show starting October 19. Extending half-an-hour shows to one hour has become a norm with channels who look at increasing the TRPs through this. Last year too during Diwali, STAR Plus had extended Bidaai for one hour and reaped huge benefits. In fact, time and again channels extend their popular shows so that viewers stick to the show and don’t move onto other channels. Balika Vadhu on Colors, Shree and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Kijo on Zee have experimented with the one-hour concept successfully.
