Khalbali
A laugh riot

Director : Ajay Chandok

Producer: Azam Khan

Cast: Nikhil Dwivedi, Sada, Rajpal Yadav, Suresh Menon, Chunkey Pandey, Johnny Lever, Asrani and many more.

Music: Sajid Wajid

The film is a comic caper, the story of which revolves around a bomb plant. An affluent hotelier wanting to bomb his rival's hotel hires a gangster to plant a bomb there. The 'target' hotel has a varied group of guests, who range from runaway lovers to members of a film unit to low-key dons. Will the bomb result into a blast? The answers are not far away! The film is shot in Dubai, Pattaya and Mumbai.

It took me about eight months rounding up the cast. Though it was tiring, the whole experience was amazing! Most of the actors like Johny Lever, Suresh Menon and Rajpal Yadav are my friends, so it was like working with family, and others like Asrani, Manoj Joshi and Ketaki Dave, with whom I have worked for the first time were also equally co-operative. I think tight editing and good pace are the hallmarks of a good comedy film and I have learnt this from my mentor David Dhawan. He taught me that direction is not something that you can learn. But after this film, I have understood that a good script will always make a gripping film.

THE BUZZ
Ajay Chandok who has assisted David Dhawan, directs the film. Also it is the first Hindi film to have 32 comedians.
