by RAFEEK on 2009-11-18 13:57:50.924867+05:30 No doubt, the culprit behind this killing is LeT or other Pakistani Terrorist groups. But the issue is not "who killed?" but "For whom killed?". Most of the recent terror attacks are just "qotation terror" sponsored by forces behind curtains with deep conspiracy. Terrorist do their qoutation work beautifully, leaving hardly any prof to trace those who have given qoutation. These attacks has nothing to do with relegion or nationality, but cleverly utilised for their operation. Alqaida hit WTC with very good planning but 80% of Israeli workers unbelievably escaped, because all of them were absent on the particular day! LeT successfully hit Mumbai leaving Hementh Karkare "finished" (He got an anonymous threat a day before that "he will be finished soon" !!). But surely, oneday this conspiracy of terrorists with their sponsors will be revealed, not by a police or judicial enquiry, but by some other strange incidents!.

Who Killed Karkare?
by Sudha on 2009-11-03 15:45:23.535707+05:30 I recently read the book Who Killed Karkare, written by a former Inspector General of Maharashtra. It is extremely sad that we hindus killed a hindu! If there are hindu terrorists we must face them, fight them and remove terrorism by the roots so that we may proudly say once more that a hindu cannot be a terrorist! If we dont fight them and blame others, what will be the difference between us and the others?

Karkare’s response to a death threat: A 'smiley'
by RAVI on 2009-05-11 14:54:08.601255+05:30 It is very unfortunate that we missed a brave hearted officer like Mr Hemant Karakare and others..It also sounds very bad (and not true )to hear that Hindu and Hindu agenda parties killed Mr Karkare. It is said that ATS was working under the direction of Mr Sharad Pawar and under the orders of RR PATIL, THE THEN hOME mINISTER.Under these politicians directions,it is heard that Pradnya SINGH tHAKUR AND OTHERS ARE BOOKED AS Terrorost.and was a POLITICAL MOVE TO IMPRESS mUSLIMS and misguide the people at large that Hindus are terrorist.Mr Pawar is a political ambitious leader and he can go to any extent to get votes of Muslims by creating a wrong impressions about Hindus. Many people say that Mr Pawar and his Home Minister Mr RR Patil were the people behind these peoples death.Mr Antulay wanted to say the same thing to the people at large but he was then compelled not to raise this issue,it is said. The role of politicians in this regard needs to examined by CBI

India needs change !
by vingns on 2008-12-24 15:24:16.628959+05:30 The culprit are the Politicians, who will always talk that law takes its own course, when Mumbai was under unrest, due to marathi-bihari divide, created by another Politician to gain stature, when RahulRaj was encountered, when we were busy fighting among ourselves.Intelligence inputs were coming about the terror attack, which got ignored by ourPolice, who were giving statement about disclosure about the biggest internal terror network. The real terror was shown to us on 26/11.All the three brave officers must have been directed by,none other than homeminister,to face the bullets of a terrorist. The Politicians are insensitive,Indian laws have failed miserably due to dishonesty and distortion in its compliance . Now is the time for a change. The country should be divided in four zones,N,S,E,W.Everybody is an Indian.Instead of Politicians, the Army should rule this country, and the same discipline should be followed,as in the Defence services, otherwise many more attacks

SOMETHING VERY STRANGE
by n.krishna on 2008-12-01 21:38:45.590018+05:30 It is very unusual to send back a policeman from RAW to a state posting. In Jan 2008 he was sent back to the state for a reason. It may have something to do with creating 'Hindu terror' for the next parliament election. There is an elaborate network of supporting muslims for this terror attack as the terrorists were accompanied by a muslim lady.Large quantity of weapons were shifted to hotels by the supporting staff. ATS must have been under their surveillance or some policemen must have been working for the terrorists. The moment Karkare got in to the jeep the terrorists are aware of it and karkare was a dead man then

by Kuriakose Varkey on 2008-11-29 19:27:23.38702+05:30 The most notable news I heard is Ms. Karkare's rejection of Modi's help. Terrorism has raised its ugly head so badly because of polititions like Modi who nurture communal hatred for political gains. Babri Masjid, Gujarat, Orrissa, Malagov series , if continued will keep on killing innocent people and sacrifice lives of dedicated officers and soldiers like Mr. Karkare. Ms Karkare should run as an independant candidate from Bombay to Lok Sabha to mobilize public opinion against dirty tricks by political parties

Karkare - the Indian hero without religious boundaries
by Asadulgaba on 2008-11-29 16:56:39.283947+05:30 I am proud to be an Indian and wish to see the safety and security of all Indians - irrespective of their caste and creed. If people keep supporting extremism (whether Hindus or Muslims) and bring religion to politics, the nation is sure to doom. We have seen our neighbor Pakistan which is literally ruled by terrorists. This is surely the result of religious extremism. Everybody has the liberty to practice and propogate his religion, but not at the cost of disintigeration of the nation. After all we are all Indians. To me it came as a great surprise that at a moment when the historical and daring investigations of Malegaon were undertaken by Karkare (surely he was Indian hero) these attacks came out and resulted in complete stop to those investigations. These attacks have not downrailed the investigation but also eliminated from our memories that there is something like Hindu extremism (if not terrorism) that exists. Hope some one gets to the root of these attacks.

by Elango on 2008-11-29 15:40:22.621278+05:30 We are not fools, truth behind the murder of ATS chief and his associates shall come out. If not India will be fanatically lead into a most pathetic situation. Already Pakistan and Pakistanis are in this same trap and suffering hell because of religious fanaticism. But we are trying to imitate what Hitler's Germany did to the world and itself. Hitler's Germany brought all out disaster only. But in the beginning it looked so good. Fellow Indians let us defeat every politician and clergy irrespective of any party and religion who justify violence and terrorism. Let the deaths of just officers such as ATS Chief not go waste. Let every one of us be fair and just in our thoughts and deeds. Let India become a model state to the world. At the same time the terrorist who came from Pakistan shall be punished and whomever associated with them shall be put to death. Every Indian Muslim too shall have this same spirit. No mercy towards terrorism whoever do shall be hated with everything.

mumbai attack
by priti sinha on 2008-11-29 14:59:14.064358+05:30 It is high time we learnt to distinguish between terrorism and a war in disguise. The correct response to the Mumbai attack is certainly not to raise our accusing fingers against a nation or two and sit back with brazen ease of willing suspension of disbelief. The aptest response to this would be to raise a central force having its own elaborate intelligence wing strictly meant for defending few most important cities, establishments and installations besides waging a full scale diplomatic war against the nation behind such dastardly cold blooded attacks against us. This central force would be responsible for thwarting any attack or threat to the peace of these cities either from outside or form inside. This might prove great step towards ensuring not only the nation’s security but also it’s integrity.

Like How the Old stones of Taj Hotel saves the Structure from Fire , these strong willed duty officers are only saving the Country from the weakly built Politicans who are actually the cancers of political culture of the nation who are firing the nation on daily basis through erosion of values , eruption of corruption etc., Let our Younger generations witness such patriotism from the older generation . Such Attitudes of Leadership alone can take the country on the right path especially when we are ina time where both the PM and the Opposition Leader cannot even travel together to witness a national tragedy by keeping the politics aside. Shame on our system and political values extracted from a 6000 year old culture .

2 A officer above religious bias
by sagar on 2008-11-29 15:13:46.595293+05:30Fist of all I pay my homage to brave honest officer Mr.Hemant Karkare. He had intentions to work above religious bias with broadmindedness.Mere claiming that we are secular country is not sufficient government should demonstrate it also by their actions. Like for example government can reserve one fourth seat each for all 4 prime religions(Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Isai) in police, army , airforce and navy. It will be a good message to all minorities and will help in religious harmony also. Then only the attrocities against minorities will decline. Mrs. Gandhi should take this point seriously mere giving ministries to someone from minority is not enough and sometime they act like puppet. We need somebody as strong as Mr.Arjun Singh who did a good job in IITs, IIM, Aiims and making 5 AMU universities. We have great hope with UPA government.Mr.Lalu speak a lot but does less but Mr. Arjun singh is a silent doer.

by concern on 2008-11-28 15:42:35.293236+05:30 if one will review all the acts of terror in this land and link up the close political issues in the country. one can easily conclude that the acts of terror has always diverted the attention of the political crisis. the same pattern for the past 20 years. when Thelka was tabled in the parliament there was on the same day the attack on parliament. Hemant was a man of integrity and loyalty to his job and nation and so also his other colleagues who laid down their lives. they all had political enemies. i cannot fathom how could the terrorist shoot them alone among a crowd of many policemen and others. i am sure as the earlier chief minister of MP Digvijay Singh said once before that these acts of terror are in house creation by the BJP. and this came at the right time when the malegoan blast case is in progress. i am sad for this nation that has power hungry leaders who will do anything to get into power and kill its own people and honest officers.

by Jay on 2008-11-28 08:18:34.203109+05:30 Its really astonishing to see that 3 main officers were killed by the terrorists. I definitely dont beleive this. Did these top officers run into the terriorits ahead of all police personnel and security guards. This is an outright strategy to stop earlier investigations - at least any level headed person will think like this.

1 suspicious killings
by Rahm on 2008-11-28 20:11:47.74333+05:30It very painful, shocking and suspicious that 3 of our brave police officers got killed, especially these Officers were in the process of unravelling the truth about the Malegaon, Samjhauta and several other blasts and terror activities. These officers already recieved threats in the last few days. It is hard to believe as just a coincidence. This need to be deeply investigated by media, ATS and the judiciary. Salute to the officers for their services to our nation.

1 Karkare's murder foul
by KR on 2008-11-29 07:27:43.192314+05:30I agree: Jadhav's account of how three of Bombay's TOP, and HONEST police officers being killed is very suspicious, and there is a deeper plot here than is being revealed. In the focus on the terrorists' siege, these three heroes' murders should not go uninvestigated. It goes to show that if you are an upright, honest police officer in Maharashtra, you will not live long. Shame on Indian politics, that takes the lives of the best of the nation!

Very-2 Important lesson to all publicity oriented officers and leaders
by Sanjay Srivastava on 2008-11-28 07:21:43.964438+05:30 Though sad, God punished Karkare. It is a lesson for every ani-national officer, politician and citzen be honest and work in favor of country else die like karkare. Why he went for fighting ? Probably he misthought it that it is high time to score publicity over his tarnished image in pleasing his Italian and arab masters. As a chief rather he would have spent his duties in organising, controlling and monitoring the situation. He even did not think he is torturing Hindu saints who are in themselves "Khuda ke Farishte".

Media should HELP INVESTIGATE this in detail
by Umesh on 2008-11-28 07:18:47.19821+05:30 Yes. The death of a police officer who proved that a case was falsely put to terrorists should be investigated. I hope the media do not lose focus and give appropriate focus to the police officer deaths. Its apparent that the Malegoan blast investigations were showing the deep roots of terror linked to both the Indian Army officials and the wide network of Hindu activists - looks like the shiv sena , abvp, bjp have deep connections to the underworld and terror network.....This is now affecting the local citizens and deteriorating the Indian society and soon will affect the local economy. We are losing capable officers - look at the list of the 3/4 dead officers and what they achieved. This breaks the spirit of every Indian and definitely every Mumbaikar....Lets learn a lesson from the Indian cricket team, show what the new India is about - lets get these criminals and political criminals....whoever they are - whether its the Shiv Sena or the BJP or the Islamic terrorists or Pak

Quality of Police Force
by Asis Mittra on 2008-11-28 07:02:22.238523+05:30 Few brave and dedicated officers like Hemant Karkare struggled and continue to struggle to have a professional police force. But do the Indian electorate realise that the politicians and other assorted VIPs have always used Indian Police as their personal "sevadars"?How can we have a professioal force under these demeaning circumstances? The lack of training and motivation of the force is glaring in every crises situation and the political elite bear the sole blame , not the poor policemen.

by Nilesh on 2008-11-28 06:14:50.343051+05:30 Mr. Karkare, had you focused on real terrorists in the last few months you would possibly been alive (may your soul rest in peace). The Congress party and ATS need to understand from this tragedy that appeasement will not win you any medals with Islamic terrorists. Some ignorant and uneducated people here keep bringing up RSS, VHP etc..remember most of the terrorism across the world is not caused by RSS, but by terrorist Islamic radicals. When the Govt can't secure people they will obviously do something out of frustration. Muslims across the globe need to rethink as to why every Islamic country has failed, why despite 70% of world's resources they are so poor ? That is not America or VHP's fault ..it's their failed religion, corrupt leaders and hate spewing clerics that's the main cause for all this.

2 stop fighting in religion's name
by fallenstar on 2008-11-29 00:43:24.931174+05:30There is not a country in the world, as ours, which has been so tolerant to a plethora of religions and cultures that has come to us.. they have been welcomed with warmth, respect and love, ever since the land's memory... Imagine the broad mindedness of our ancestors.. N now, we, the 'post morden era' call ourselves forward, and we exhibit the characteristics that wld suit wild beasts!!..it is heart wrenching to see the petty fights in the name of religion and even language!! Any religion's prime objective is to maintain a social order, discipline n above all, brotherhood..n the moment it counteracts, it cant b called religion any more..then it becomes terrorism. Our beloved nation is in a pathetic state now..in which secularism has confined its appearance only in the constitution.. India is soon becomin a religious fanatic's paradise and an excellent breeding place for crooked political chieftains.. Let us begin a campaign now..we may not b able to shoot dwn a terrorist.. But we can disarm them... by taking them off their source of power.. the power of human resource...lets start by banishing the religious barriers.. with our friends, our neighbours, our classmates, our collegues, n all the ppl whoes services we seek, but take for granted everyday... and above all, let us start beliving that everyone of us can make a difference, no matter how bleak the situation.. thats the least that we can give back to the land that brought us up.

His death is suspicious

I can't figure out how someone as senior officer as Hemant Karkare happened be at the front to get shot when hundreds of policeman who actually fight the terrorist have survived. I can't imagine him to be incompetent or reckless. There is some chance he was by his enemies within the police (people who didn't like his investigation in Malegaon bomb blast case). His quick cremation without post-mortem is suspicious. We will never know the full truth

Sorry ATF chief, you were ordered to focus to solve UPA political problems not national security problems.. at the end you have to pay that with your life! Hope now at least ATF will focus on real enemy and refuse to be part of UPA-Communist political drama. To those who want to club nationalist RSS with anti-national SIMI, beware ATF may be looking for you after a nationalist Govt. comes to power, after next elections! Political leadership is corrupt and intellectually bankrupt
by Raj on 2008-11-28 00:06:21.355265+05:30 I hope Indian electorate (at least educated ones) take the political leadership - both in power and opposition - to task. Political leadership is a reflection of what people want and ultimately they themselves are to be blamed. As long as they elect the leaders, whose only aim is to somehow capture power and personally benefit (obviously illegally) from it. Only solution is to address the issue honestly, through legal and ethical means, but firmly. Blaming minority community or appeasing them won't help. We have to make the majority of good people in minority community realize that the bad minority in their community has hijacked their leadership and in a democratic society, the solution should come from them. Otherwise, ultimately all - majority or minority - will perish.

Dear Hemant Karkare, every sensible Indian is immensely proud of you, at this moment of national agony! I salute you and hearty condolences to your family! A word to all those who now doubt, question and analyse the elements of unprofessionalism, ignorance of basic rules of fighting terrorist attacks, or relate such a heroic sacrifice within the context of political allegations against ATS: shame on you! You forget that this man did not shy away from dangers and threats on his life; that he did not merely order his junior officers and staff to manage the situation! You exemplify intellectual acrimony of presenting committed servants in negative images!

by gourav on 2008-11-27 23:54:30.530665+05:30sad that he is dead.. but the man seriously derelicted his duty.. he wanted to be shown as a hero in front of media and paid the price. It speaks for the intelligence quotient of the person, who as the ATS chief had to devise the stratergies and decision making but instead wanted to score points to the public.. Professionalism is questionable here and if he was controlling the sitauation instead of fighting, a few more lives might have been saved along with his own..

1 Not denying credit
by Vivek on 2008-11-28 04:59:37.475337+05:30Nobody is denying him credit; he died in the line of duty - that is heroic. The point is that India would have been better served if he had stayed alive. And protecting the top leadership (read himself and his senior colleagues)is an important part of his job. Sacrificing himself to a low level pawn from an unknown terrorist organization is a huge tactical loss. The intent is not to condemn him but to express ourselves to other leaders of the security apparatus that their martrydom feels like a huge loss and is demoralizing to the nation.Leadership of the terrorist organization is still alive and probably planning the next operation. ATS has lost their top leader and won't be around to fight the next time. Leadership is precious and needs to be protected. That is an important part of the larger war. Now that he is gone, we will hail his martrydom. But I would have been much happier if he had lived to fight another day.

Was ATS busy showing osbsene CD and torturing a decorated army officer forgeting to collecting intelligence on a inpending attack. Mumbai train blast of 2006, killed 200 innocent people and injured 800. What happened to that investigation. Malegaon blast killed 6 and injured 11 people and the entire ATS is busy conducting narco analysis forgetting their role in prevention of terrorism. Remenber, Abdul Telgi had revealed during narco analysis of Maharastra and some Karnataka congress leaders. No action was taken againt them. Can IE update the people on this.

In my opinion, Mr Karkare had the responsibility to protect himself and his senior staff from these two-bit terrorists by staying out of harm's way. by shri on 2008-11-27 19:54:42.468474+05:30 Indeed sad to lose these men who meant lot to the Mumbai Police. But the moot question is, were they actually 'encounter specialists', or just more thanm ordinary policemen, who encountered untrained anti social elements. they should have been more careful and not casual as they looked on the TV footages. Also some things better be handled by the Army

Sad demise of Hemant Karkare
by Kumar on 2008-11-27 19:13:24.929877+05:30 A sad demise of a brave police officer.Condolences to his family will hardly compensate the loss. There are some important questions which need to be answered. Why is it necessary for the police to brief the press ? Is it not police becoming vulnerable to politics by doing so ? The police officers comes to limelight and becomes a prime target.Wish it stops immidiately.

by UB Jayanthi on 2008-11-27 19:08:48.706416+05:30 I offer my prayers that his soul rest in peace and condolences to his immediate family members. But why this top policeman of intelligence wing feel interferance of politicians. Any poor citzen of india knows police and politicians are one and same. He is a product of this regime in the difficulties that common faces. Will this be a good lesson to see that police men are organised with good salaries and do not simply go with the dictates of politicians but serve the people? If this achieved his sacrifice can be the consolation to the family.

Bombay Madness
by Alex on 2008-11-27 19:03:37.105756+05:30 I am watching this incident in Bombay and at the same time, I became inquisitive about an incident, which occurred on Sept 29, 2008, known “Malegaon Blast.” In that case, an Indian Army Lt. Col. was involved with Hindu Fundamentalist activities. He is under arrest and the person who was conducting the case, Mr. Hemant Karkare of Maharashtra - ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) has been killed along with two other high-ranking police officers in this Bombay shooting. That Lt. Col. had several meeting in one private military school, which is run by RSS prior to this “Malegaon Blast.” ATS was closing in on several high profile RSS/VHP and some Hindu spiritual leaders; one of them is already in custody. I think killing of Mr. Karkare is a part of wide range conspiracy it should raise some eyebrows. It could be those so-called Islamic fundamentalist but involvement of RSS/VHP or Hindutva should not go without a proper investigation. Something big happened to cover up some thing even bigger.

Hang up Politics
by Nasiruddin on 2008-11-27 18:53:59.273706+05:30 Hats off to the entire team of ATS and other forces of the nation for the act of bravery shown in tackling the situation. Why dont these politicians and leaders join the squad for saving the country rather than commenting and politicicing the sensitive issue. This is the time to hang up politics and strengthen the very basic fabric of thenation. Terrorists have no relegion, caste or creed but we as Indians have an identity irrespective of all these things. So gentleman join hands to save the nation not the Hot seat of Politics . My whole family pays tribute to the brave soldiers and my heart goes out to the berieved families.

"committed karkare"
by B.V.SHENOY on 2008-11-27 18:50:52.956942+05:30 This reporter has drawn a very lovable yet sentimental picture of karkare. We all are sad and deeply anguished by his death. However, certain facts cannot be brushed aside simply because they are pointed out by the Sangh parivar. The ill-treatment meted out to Pragya is typically Indian police and Karkare is responsible and accountable for it. That he allowed his department to be guided by the likes of Deshmukh and R.R.Patil, who are actually the scum of the earth and did all that they bade him to do is a sad commentary on the performance of an otherwise dedicated and conscientious officer.

by Bashiruddin on 2008-11-27 17:29:05.708903+05:30 Look I dont want to question Hemant who ha died, but what was he doing on the front line. A good general only goes to the front line when all is lost. Other wise he stays in his Commnad Centre and controls the all mooping up activity or the war. Karkare a ATS chief was the best person to deal with the situation in the best manner so that the number of inoccent lives lost couldbe minimised, probabaly by his actions he has watered down the Police response to this Gory inhuman incient increasing the loss of inocent lives. And these terrorists rom pak, attacking Hospitals they are in human, savages, murderers, sick people.

Advani or RSS hand in killing Karkare
by Jagjit Singh on 2008-11-27 17:16:21.590576+05:30 I think the RSS goons or the Advani's henchmen inside the police force took advantage of the situation and killed Karkare point blank when he about to take position against the terrorists... What are the chances of 3 bullets being shot straight at the top guy killing him instantly and nobody else around him gets even mildly hurt.. There is something fishy here. The hindu terrorists didnt like Karkare's act of unearthing hindu terrorism behind malegaon blasts and were angry at him. They eliminated him when this opportunity presented itself.

Last night and the whole day today we have witnessed the horror of terrorist attack, we were proud of our officers, who stand bravely against the foul terrorist forces, but instead of giveing a pat on the back for protecting India, these officers were recieving sceptism from the BJP. These nonsense groups have not only spolied their own reputation, but they are also dragging entire India back to stone ages.Muslim or Hindu terror shall not be tolerated anywhere.India should ban all the Al-Qaida, SIMI, RSS,VHP,Bajrang Dal etc. to move forward.

Religion - the curse of India
by Rohit Amir on 2008-11-27 13:59:38.90024+05:30 India should ensure that its citizens are INDIAN first and religion - the blight of humanity- next. Every INDIAN national should have the fullest rights not only in law but in our minds and in our morals. Every political party should make this the fundamental rule. Religious priority is for the ignorant who end up making INDIA'S citizens go after each others throats on mainly religious grounds. They become no different from the terrorists in the execution of their evil agenda. The prime concern of the government should be to outlaw discussion of religion and every party should have all citizens Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian in their membership. If any party fails to show this INDIANS should not vote for it. It is left to INDIANS to save India by voting with their feet. Save INDIA from the politics of evil based on religion, and creed. Let INDIA be a shining example to the World. Let us end what has blighted INDIA and will continue to blight it to eternity if we cittizens remain fools

A hero has died
by Abu Naved on 2008-11-27 13:41:21.845139+05:30 Report says that Mr. Karkare was wearing bullet proof vest. He later died of bullet injuries on his chest. How come!! Either he was not wearing the bullet proof vest or the ammunition used by the terrorists was so powerful that it must pierced through the vest and then hit his chest. Or the vest must be of very poor quality. These must be looked into and investigated thoroughly.

Hemanth Karkare - A true INDIAN
by A.Aziz on 2008-11-27 13:29:23.031958+05:30 Hemanth Karkare death has shocked me and most of the fellow indians here in BAHRAIN. We did not expect this to happen as we saw him last on TV with all the protective uniform on. How come all senior officers of the ATS were killed...... looks like some planned game... as the ATS was comming up with the results to the malegaon blasts. My heart goes out to the poor people killed in this planned attacks. Hope that we see a clear story or reason of the attacks. What even suprises us is, were is the indian Intelligence did they not have the information of such attacks, and from were did the deccan mujahideens arise, why havent we heard of them before. our condolence to the victims and we also condem the attacks.

The suspicion is that Terrorist do not have relegion and may be working for anyone who are ready to pay them.

ATS Chief dies a Heroes death
by Mohamed Adham on 2008-11-27 13:15:57.707483+05:30 The ATS and other Intelligence gathering agencies were surely distracted by the political fall out on the Malegaon allegations of torture being touted by the BJP and others. This would have blinded them about any possble " heads up " on any forthcoming attacks. The Politicians of India are the bane and destruction of India. The people have to open their eyes and get away from the Blinkers that they are all have been forced to wear. Politics and the Politicians are tearing India apart and its time the citizens wise up to this situation.

Without making unnenessary statements let us fight untidely to find a way out these acts of terrorism from this holy soil for the sake of our motherland and for the sake of lives of innocent people of this country. The government is not to only observe and make statements at the time of this type of ugly act but it is the duty of the government to assure the people of this nation the safety and security. This time the home minister of India should resign soon due to his incapacity and laxity. It speaks very poorly of our so called anti-terror strategy and executuion of it when you see the head of the ATS squad walking into the death chamber as it were with a helmet and without the protective bullet proof vest. Why don’t you say something about Muslim Terrorits who brutally killed Hindu heros? Why in 99% cases Muslim terrorists are found behind terror attacks in India? The so called Mujaheedins sould be arrested and punished in Public. How, Sangh parivar came in to picture in this case? Just because Sangh, and other Hindu Organizations fights for Hindus? For Mujaheedins there are other nations in the world. Go there and do such attacks. We are peace loving people but whenever situation demands we are lions. Remember Pruthviraj Chauhan, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap who made such mujaheedin mentalities run for there life from this holy land.

Let us follow Americans gunboat policy.

ATS Chief Hemant Katare dies a Hero's death
by Krishan K Pawla on 2008-11-27 11:09:39.678087+05:30 What a loss. Did't these experienced and brave officers know how to handle such situation? It is pretty clear that our police needs to be trained enough to tackle such situation.More over the intelligence of our great nation needs to be geared up. This is not the first time that we got beaten up. Ah look at the years 1962-1965-1971and Kargil episodes. We did not learn any lesson? What a shame. Good luck buddies!!!!Whathat a loss of these five officers killed while encontering terrorists. The main question arises is that did these officers have some kind of back up? Afterall these were experienced and brave officers who could have thought intelligently before going in to action. Looks like they just went in to action without planning,

Time to realize importance of Hindu Nation
by Hindu Rashtra on 2008-11-27 10:52:56.017766+05:30 Yesterday (26.11.208), we saw the incidence of Terror in Mumbai throughout the night. We saw Mr. Karkare wearing helmet and bulletproof jacket. First question is how he got injuries in head and chest. However, it was a hero’s death. We will remember him, Mr. Salaskar and Mr. Amte along with all the other heros. Now, As one of the friend said, Abu azmi and his party will definitely try to protect the arrested terrorists and will try to label them as innocent students.Dear Hindu community, we are finding it very difficult to live in our own country. It is a time to form a clear Hindu Rashtra. We are capable to run our country in a very well manner as a Hindu Nation than we are running it as a democratic country. Take example of any Muslim Nation. The laws are pro-islam and they do not allow other religions to even try there religious commitments. Dear all awake, arise and strive for a pure Hindu Nation.

A few should go down with bullets, which will then enlighten the rest with the need for strict laws to circumvent the loss of lives, be it innocent or not. We are fighting to lift capital punishment, but how will you sort the minds of disturbed or distrorted individuals.

Responsible Behaviour of Media
by Venkataraman on 2008-11-27 10:44:43.537769+05:30 What I feel is that it is the media that is to be blamed for Hemant's death. We have lost a very vauable person in our country; May his Soul rest in Peace. Media is good at exposing everything. Have they ever realized how much beneft the terrorist are getting out of this. They just want to have high TRP ratings who dies and who lives is not their cup of tea. When would this media act repsonsible? When would they start think? I just hope that atleast a few media persons go through this pain of death of their closed ones; in these kind of acts. Only then they would undertand the pain in it gives. Please stop revleaing the army activities to the terrorist. Also, please ask Raj Thakrey to send in his so called MNS for the rescue. Bloody they are just cowards taking on innocent people. My suggestion is to choose some responsible people in responsible posts in order to do what is required out of them.

This should include special police force, special courts and summary trials. This menance must be realised by all. Past acts of congress leaders do not inspire confience in their ability to handle where as regional parties for fear of losing votes always try to delay in arriving at right solution. Is bullet proof effective....
by Indian on 2008-11-27 10:09:50.886927+05:30 May Mr Karkare's soul rest in peace. I have a grave doubt though..I saw the TV whole night without going to sleep. Mr Karkare put on the bullet proof and the helmet at the Taj. But he died two hours later at the Cama Hospital hostage crisis. Wonder if he was still wearing the bullet proof or had left it back at the Taj site, when he moved over to other sites and reached Cama. I saw, he was not very comfortable with the helmet, and took it off once or twicw before letting it remain. It happens in our factory too. Someone who is not used to wearing the safety helmet, and visits the plant, invariably takes it out within no time out of discomfort. But the factory people are used to it and do not take it out. I say so, because if he was wearing the bullet proof, he may not have got bullets in the chest. We still remember, inspector M C Sharma too was not wearing the bullet proof when he was shot. Whatever, th brave man gave his life to save the citizens of Mumbai and India. Salute to him.

Anyone can walk in, do anything and get away with it. Our own people are like herds of sheep who simply flock to believe in anybody and everybody. I donot know if we are innocent or ignorant or we are simple incapable people who do not know how to live in dignity, safety and security in our own country. We tax our systems to pander to those who simply dont seem to care for anyone around, leave alone thinking of returning favours or doing duty etc., Please, 'Indian Mujahideen' is sounding like, give us all we ask for and we simply dont care for anyyybody or annyyything here, we will have fun being such vandals. I simply do not know what the thinking process behind such behaviour is, except for the fact that it must make the rest of all us wake up from our slumbers and be 2gether.

It is only two days ago I happen to read about Shri.Karkare. I am deeply greived no note that he has paid with his life. As I have worked in Solapur for two years I can vouch for the efficiency of Shri. Kamte and of course Salaskar is a house hold name. Itis sickening to see such instances of terror. Thinking seriously we feel helpless that these politicians never come toghether to tackle the menace and take concrete steps to rout the evil. In western countries never a second instance of terror takes place. They act swiftly and counter the problem getting united. The political parties their cut across party lines and ensure swift preventive action. We need not be surprised if the blame game and calling for resignations start or even the politicians might even point fingers at Mumbai polilce. GOD PLEASE SAVE OUR COUNTRY.

The reason is that he unearthed the hindu terror outfits. These boys who are terrorising the Mumbaikars are well trained and Purohit and other defamed Army officers might have trained them to carry out such Fidayeen Attack. We need a reliable intelligence agency
by amol on 2008-11-27 09:07:42.725262+05:30 I hope that at least now the Govt. of India will take steps for strong intelligence agency which would work independent of any political pressure. ATS should have all rights to kill the terrorists before any further court procedures. And no political party should be allowed to make any statements on these actions. When these terrorists kill our brave officers without any further thoughts, why should we be bound with humanity and courts when it comes to justice for them and all the humanity issues raised at that time should be considered as 'an action against the nation' and be given the harsh punishment. I salute the officers who gave their lives for saving the common man. Lets hope that this Govt. understands the importance of Internal Security. Let Dr. Manmohan singh take complete control of this situation and should involve true partiotics like Dr. Kalam to create a system that helps to avoid such attacks and keep Sonia out as she only knows how to play poiltics with Indian lives.

A suspicion of Great Conspiracy
by Indian Patriot on 2008-11-27 09:06:07.350734+05:30 Just a day ago Mr Hemant Karkare was threatened to be eliminated and the very next day he is being killed by terrorists. Mr Karkare was an eye sore for those who were angry with his Malegaon actions where Hindu terrorists were apprehended by him and he was abused, lebelled false allegations of torture, and threatened and all of a sudden this decorated person who was on forefront of unearthing the Hindu Terror Modules became the victim of a great conspiracy that is to be investigated. The pictures shown of the terrorists has a thread on their hands which resembles to the hindu devotees and it seems that the whole episode has very cleverly been deisgned and played just to eliminate those who were involved in unearthing the hindu terror and the threat these so called nationalists poses to the country. We salute the our brave police Persons who lost their lives and nationalist are keeping silent nor decalring them as Martyrd. Long Live Hemant Karkare and Others.

Indian Justice system is Responsible
by Mathew Thomas on 2008-11-27 08:55:22.789437+05:30 Indian justice system is responsible. All murdrers, terrorists kill people and go to jailand Live there few years and then come out free. If they politically influencial, their life term sentence will be done in two years.. The punishment for murdreous terrorists are too lite. Just execute whoever kills the innocent people. India do not lose anything for executing killers, but only gain. If we are not strict on punishment, India can make sure these kind bloody attacks will be there on Indian streets in the coming years. It is funny and mockery and outrageous to see the pictures of Indian police fighting against terrorist on the scene, one or two police with gun in their hands, and rest of the police have batton (a big stick) in their hands. Its Governemnts responsibility to provide all necesary grears to police fight against terrorists. While terrorist fighting with their guns, our police fighting against terrorists with stic. Give Police some power.

He was unearthing the truth behind the explosions and make a thread leading to the Sangh Offices even to the RSS Chief. if the terrorists are Muslims in the latest incidence, then why they are targetting an officer who gave soem hope to the Indian Muslims. No. The press should investigate deep into the incident to unearth plot behind the killing of karkare? Who kinows it might be another Lf. Col or some Sadhwi behind this incidence as well. No Mulsim outfits (how dreaded are they) will not kill and support to kill who gave a pride to them. It is Sanghis behind this incidence as well.

Please support officers
by Johney on 2008-11-27 08:31:18.355642+05:30 Mr. Advani and his followers should believe at least for now that Mr. Karkare died fighting against terrorist (not Hindu Terrorist or Muslim terrorist). Please support the police and the authority to fight against terrorism and the politicians please do not pull the officers from the back. At least now onwards believe that he was an Indian fighting for antinationals. Do not spoil our brave officers by injucting politics in to their job. Please support our officers they take all risk to protect the people. Those who are trying to kill others, have thousands ways to do that but those who are trying to protect us have limited means.

United we stand, divided we fall
by Tushar on 2008-11-27 08:27:17.382096+05:30 It is really heartbreaking to read about Mr Hemant Karkare and others who died a hero's death on duty. Every one else might just pray for their soul to rest in peace, but the family is to loose the most, and their loss can never be fathomed. Probably the only way to understand this is to put ourselves in place of Mr Karkare and calculate the loss.I wish India is united in real sense, where there is genuine respect for others faith and true patriotism. If we are united irrective of religion or caste, terriorism will never show its dirty face.Political parties and religious organizations should be condemned by every one. They are the root cause of these problems. These so called religious leaders do nothing but spread disharmony, hatred and death. For the very bottom of my heart I detest these people and condemn them. I wish all Indians do the same.

Track record of terrorism in India
by Anonym on 2008-11-27 08:26:36.713096+05:30 Idiocy has its limits... People seem to exceed that too. Malegaon is just one incident of terrorism by the Hindus. This is undoubtedly a terrorist attack like the rest. What Advani says doesn't matter. I can bet that the terrorists arrested are all Muslims.

Mumbai attacks
by J. JAYARAMAN on 2008-11-27 08:18:12.927228+05:30 Everybdoy expects "secular" Indian Express to justify the killings and declaring the attackers as peace lovers and not terrorists! What better way will be there for Indian Express and other pseudo secularists to promote "secularism". How to kill real secularism can be learnt only from Indian Express and their fellow travellers.

1 Secular Politics
by rajesh on 2008-11-27 09:32:27.139412+05:30No Mr Bhaskar,They are attacking Hindus and Hindustan. You cannot dissociate it from politics. Its THE politics. Politics to capture the power. There had been attacks in the past. It's not the first time this is happening. everywhere the same story. Only difference is the date and the place. After the attack, everyone will work overtime to prove this is not related to Islam. Govt's only worry is that it should not be related with Islam.
