Creative quotient
Juno is the biopic of a young girl who gets pregnant at the age of 16 and goes on to live a life full of zest. Juno (Ellen Page) is a bright, full-of-life and a very vocal person who takes pride in her cynicism and sarcasm of life. When she comes to know of her pregnancy, she decides to take matters in her own hand and refuses to become a victim of her circumstance.
She deals with breaking the news to her parents Mac (JK Simmons) and Bren (Allison Janney) and eventually giving up her child to a couple in need, Mark (Jason Bateman) and Vanessa (Jennifer Garner). Throughout the film, Juno stands as a symbol of a confident and independent young woman who is ready to take the criticism of society in her stride.

Technical expertise
Juno is a comedy film driven solely by two aspects. One is its unique and fresh story and the other is its characters. The characters of this film seem a little caricatured in terms of their clichéd American appeal. Juno herself seems straight out of a high-school drama, but in the context of the story they all fit in perfectly.
Ellen Page’s performance of the protagonist is loud and vibrant but it almost seems perfect for the character. Juno becomes intolerable at several instances in the film, but just when one is about to point a finger at her she takes a turn for the good. Juno’s parents played by J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney are funny, sincere and well- conceived.
A well-made film, especially when one considers that its budgets were almost as good as independent cinema. The highlights of this film are its treatment and storyline. This movie’s message is very target-audience specific and anyone other than generation X will have a hard time endorsing the ideas of the protagonist of the film. Nevertheless, there is no doubting the fact that Juno’s dialogues and situational comedy are par excellence. The film is funny, witty and very clever.
