In Chandigarh for the promotion of their home production (Vijayta Films), Chamku, it was one of those rare occasions where we got to have a round of Q&As with the Deol brothers. And unlike the cold ‘bouncer’ shoulders we are subjected to at their film shootings, the interaction at Fun Republic had the brothers all ears.

It’s what we call the Aamir Effect - you talk only when your film’s on the reel this Friday. And they talked. They laughed. They smiled. And they shared, their dreams unlimited.

“I want to have a kingdom of my own,” Sunny dreams one at a time, shuffling roles from that of a producer, director, father, brother, husband and an actor. “Honestly, acting is the best, it’s a cakewalk,” we won’t lie when we say he looks as handsome as ever. So does Bobby, his locks all cropped up. Damn those genes! Drools up, we revert to Chamku, which, incidentally has been directed by Sehar’s Kabeer Kaushik.

“It’s about the journey of a boy, Chandrama aka Chamku, how his family is brutally murdered and he is raised by a Naxal, and then he goes on to become a special agent-cum-killer for the intelligence agency,” Bobby rattles off his character, quite similar to those done earlier. “Yes and no, but I’d love to do a comedy too, it’s just that seeing my track record, I get all action!” he’s now looking forward to Ek - Power of One, then two films with Sunny and Dharamendra of which one is Masters, The Man being directed by Sunny, etc, etc. Meanwhile, big brother Sunny, all for ‘two hour films without intervals’, is all smiles about a Harry Met Sally-esque flick he’s doing with T-Series. Romance always suited him.

The flow gets better, as the conversation moves from the city attraction to Apne and Olympics. “Well, Apne was a great subject, and yes, Olympics was a good time for its release,” Bobby feels that the medals won this time are purely on merit. “We weren’t expecting any!” he laughs. But were you expecting problem with Sinngh is Kinng? “Jo Bole So Nihal was released in tougher times...it ran into political rough weather, there was a bomb blast...but things have changed now,” says Sunny.
