Ganesh gets Anjana Sukhani as heroine

Golden star Ganesh gets as his heroine model-turned-actress Anjana Sukhani, in his forthcoming Maleyali Jotheyali. The film to be directed by Preetham Gubbi, will be launched on Ganesh’s birthday, July 2. The Jaipur based Anjana, whose career in films took off with a rather insignificant role in Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, later acted in films like Salaam-e-Ishq, Golmaal Returns, Sunday, Jai Veeru etc. This will be her first film in the South. Another major attraction of the film is that Ganesh will be singing a song composed by V.Harikrishna.

Vijay Raghavendra in Prakash’s Gokula
It’s after a hiatus that director Prakash is back to making a movie. This time he will be directing none other than Vijaya Raghavendra and the movie has been titled Gokula. This will be the fourth film in which Prakash and Vijaya Raghavendra are teaming up. Their three films together were Khushi, Rishi and Shree. Pooja Gandhi will be the heroine while Yash and Nakshatra play key roles. The film has cinematography by Satya Hegde and music by Manomurthi.

Yaavarum Nalam completes 100 days
Big Pictures first Tamil film Yaavarum Nalam starring R. Madhavan and Neetu Chandra completed 100 days at the box -office on June 14. Directed by Vikram K. Kumar, it released on March 6, 2009 and has grossed a collection of Rs 13 crore at the box-office. The film has faired extremely well in all theatres in Chennai, Chengalpattu and Coimbatore cities as well as in all BIG Cinemas properties in Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai, Dindugal, Sivakasi, Vellore, Pondicherry and Tanjore cities, which constituted approximately 20 per cent of the films’ entire gross box-office collection.
Even as the film completed its 100th day at the box-office on June 14, director Vikram K. Kumar is currently in Shanghai attending the Shanghai International Film Festival where the film’s Hindi version 13 B is being screened to a large section of international audience over a period of three days from June 13 - 15.

Dhanush on the roll
Tamil actor Dhanush, whose last release Padikkadhavan still goes on doing brisk business at many centres, is reportedly on to some very interesting projects. On the one hand he has just finished work on Kutty, which is directed by Mitran Jawahar of Yaaradi Nee Mohini fame and which is the Tamil remake of the Telugu hit Arya, while on the other hand Dhanush gets ready to act in Aadukalam, the remake of the Malayalam hit Nandanam. In the meantime reports say that Dhanush will be teaming up with Padikkadhavan director Suraaj in the latter’s next film. Incidentally it will once again be Tamannaah, who was Dhanush’s heroine in Padikkadhavan, who will act opposite him. Dhanush also has another forthcoming release in Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’, directed by his brother and hit-maker Selvaraghavan.
