Kolsewadi has never seen any progress in the village, thanks to the bickering and fights between MLA Chandrakant Tope (Sayaji Shinde) and sarpanch Bajirao Dole (Nagesh Bhosle). Narayan Wagh (Makarand Anaspure), a villager, makes the most of this to his advantage. He manages to coax the villagers and enters the electoral fray to fight the upcoming village elections.
The entire film deals with village politics, squabbling of the local political leaders, fight over distribution of seats and other relevant topics that generally happen during any elections have been dealt in a very humorous way.
Technical Expertise :
The dialogues by Arvind Jagtap are power-packed and hilarious and will be loved by the audience. Makarand Anaspure keeps the pace of the film moving with his inane and funny ideas that he keeps planting on the other characters. Sayaji Shinde and Nagesh Bhosle fit the characters of corrupt politicians and to suit the village politics, they are too loud and brash, making it convincing. Camerawork by Suresh Suvarna is remarkable and he also makes a foray into production with this film.
All credit goes to Zee Talkies for selecting a film that will leave an impact with its theme, dialogue and the climax. It is like a lesson well learnt.
The film also releases as the Lok Sabha elections end and thus is timely and should create the necessary frenzy required during this time.
Rating:
One star for the impressive theme, second for the acting of the main star cast and third for the impressive treatment to the well-timed subject.
