F.I.R.
Friday 8.30 pm, SAB TV
Actor Kavita Kaushik has earned herself a cult fan following through her act of Miss Chandramukhi Chautala, a swashbuckling cop with thick Haryanvi accent.
In the new episodes of F.I.R. on SAB TV, she teams up with Ali Asgar to draw laughter. Ali Asgar, who plays inspector Raj Aryan, is a versatile actor, but he somehow fails to match up to the role of inspector Hanuman Prasad Pandey, which was played by Shiv Pandit in the earlier episodes. He too tries to woo Miss Chautala through his antics, but somewhere the chemistry between the duo is missing. The way Miss Chautala would ‘chide’ inspector Pandey in her own unique style is deeply missed in the new episodes.

Every episode introduces a new character and a case, which Miss Chautala cracks using her ‘whim and wit’. The show does manage to evoke a chuckle or two though at times the goings-on seem a bit inane.
And not to forget constables Gulgule (Kiku Sharda) and Gopi (Gopinath Bhalla) who play the sidekicks. While Gulgule is really humorous, Gopi is funnily submissive. If you are not too finicky about the content, then F.I.R. is the ideal show to unwind after a tough day at work. It does manage to bring a smile.
Verdict: Want some ‘laughter therapy’? Then tune in to this comic caper.
