What is the idea behind the show Custom Made For Vir Sanghvi?
Through the show Custom Made For Vir Sanghvi, the idea was to showcase the best of India and to demonstrate that we can get great quality and value here. We have dug out customised experiences from every corner of the country be it in the realm of food, fragrance, fashion or accommodation.

Will you be travelling only in India or even abroad?
This series has been made for India. I am open to doing another one abroad. For instance, we could go to my tailor in London or to somebody who makes bespoke fragrances in Paris or to somebody who does craft to order in Thailand. But that’s still in the future.

How would you co-relate food and fragrance?
My work actually separates into two distinct components. There’s the stuff (Counterpoint, my many interview shows) that relates to the brain. And there’s the stuff (Custom Made For Vir Sanghvi, Rude Food etc.) that relates to the senses. Food and fragrance are about the senses.

What is your favourite dish?
Don’t have any single favourite dish.

Do you also cook?
Yes. Very badly!

You were hosting a chat show. Is there anything in the pipeline now?
I’m doing a show on CNBC called Tycoons which is an interview format. In September or so, I started a second show for them which is about issues. I am talking to Star World about another show, though the details are not clear yet.

The INX venture didn’t work out. Are you considering heading a news channel in the near future?
No. I am not sure whether there is enough room for another news channel. The existing ones have enough trouble breaking even.
