Extra work, red tape mar NSG capability
by derek on 2008-12-05 19:13:58.254687+05:30 Why should the government pay for the upgrades of the weapons and ammunition required by the NSG? If they do so they will have less money to pocket. They do not care abouth the safety and security of the nation, only theirs. it is about time the honest people of India revolted against these guys and kicked them out of office.

by I. Agarwal on 2008-12-05 14:41:06.471562+05:30 NSG has no business to be providing security to elected representatives in a democracy. Let them get on with their job.Since we are so good at starting new organisations at the drop of the hat why not create a VIP protection force and let the VIPs pay for its services.

by subbarayan on 2008-12-05 13:33:37.06271+05:30 Imagine, a Pakistan company winning a tender to provide ammunition /bullet proof vests or other material to NSG. Everything is bought under the tender process. The cheapest provider wins.

What does NSG stand for?
by Bidhanchandra on 2008-12-05 13:32:16.453129+05:30 The way the government is mismanaging the NSG, the NSG will only become Naive Sacrificial Goats for the terrorists, and Bakri-Id is not very far off!

NSG
by Balaraman Radhakrishnan on 2008-12-05 13:20:47.356944+05:30 It is a shame why security agencies are under the control of babus, who only know how to comply with rules. If a politician is to be protected, all rules will be thrown to the winds and s/he would get it in 24 hours. When it is for the tax-payers, they have to be wait endlessly. Let RAW, IB, NSG and SPG be made autonomous organisations and do not allow the babus, especially the egoistic IAS, to mess around with it.

NSG
by captainjohann on 2008-12-05 11:51:17.329215+05:30 Once NSG units are raised in states, what is the need for large aircrafts to airlift them?It is another kargil coffin scam when normal purchase procedures are bypasssed.ARC aircrafts are there with crew at standby 30 mts.If one aircraft was at chandigarh on that particular day, what happenned to others like AN32? When oscar force of Navy commadoes were operating what was the use of NSG?Why the BRASS of NSG not asking for better bullet proof vests, better helmets, better weapons and better comm equipment but asking for aircrafts? If QRT is the need how come 10 LET fellows could hold elite oscar and Army commandoes from pune and NSG for 62 hours?

Funny
by Rama on 2008-12-05 11:46:42.005847+05:30 The SPG gets all while the NSG has to suffer. Simply because big politicians are better able to protect their ass while the public can defend themselves. No wonder that after every attck all that our politicians advise to the public is to "stay vigilant". If we need to stay vigilant ourselves and protect ourselves, what are the corrupt netas doing in power?

Dont spoil India
by Vj on 2008-12-05 11:28:40.548645+05:30 First make NSG as an autonomous body..In order to give power to NSA, all such nastic politics takes place in NSG..Put a man like Gill and he should take any action without any consultation.. That much training has to be given to him...Its not necessary you have to go to abroad for training..There are many IAS and intelligence officials in India.. We can best utilise them to make a very good training for the NSG.. Pls. PM

Extra work red tape mar NSG
by V.C. Sekar on 2008-12-05 10:53:26.858334+05:30 Dear Sirs:The Government of India is run by inefficient persons and controled by fools i.e. politician. If any thing is required to protect the politician then they will remove all obstacles and procure everything. It is only the public is killed and they would like to reduce the Indian population like this and hence they will not allow NSG to procure anything without going for tendering. The red tape, under the table and political intereference is not removed the safety of the Indian public is a remote change and they will be killed like this by the terrorist without any fitting reply by the Government.
