Talking about what interested him about Gair, Sandeep says that the story fascinated him. “After Dombivli Fast, which I consider a thriller, this is another film that will keep everyone on their toes for two hours and twenty minutes. It is the first time in the history of Marathi films that a project of this big a canvas is being made,” he says.
Sandeep is sporting a new and hep look in the film. “In fact, both the characters look the same. It is only the voice that differentiates the characters. I worked on two different tones for the characters,” he explains. Stamped as a realistic actor after Dombivli Fast, Sandeep is glad to be sporting a stylised look in Gair that has been directed by Satish Rajwade. The director and Sandeep have known each other for a long time and wanted to work together. They had the script with them for two years and were looking for someone to back it as they did not want to compromise on the subject. “We found very good producers in Hasmukh Hirani, G. Prashant and Santosh Navle. The final result is just the way we had visualised it,” states the actor. The film, he says, was shot in Mumbai, Kolhapur and Pune in 45 days.
Ankganit Anandache is another film to which Sandeep is looking forward to. It is about a father’s relationship with his four-year-old son and Sandeep says that he easily identified with the role as he has a nine-year old son Vrundhar. “It is about how the duo survives a major crisis in their life,” he briefs. Of his Hindi releases, the actor has Sunil Doshi’s Waiting Room. “The release got postponed due to the strike. I hope it hits the screens soon,” he says.
