Bollywood's evergreen star Dev Anand is set to make a comeback to the silver screen in his new film 'Chargesheet', post which he will also direct a movie based on Indian Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar's relationship with his daughter Norah Jones.

'Chargesheet', to be released in the next three to four months, is a suspense thriller in which the 85-year-old veteran plays a retired senior cop. Jackie Shroff will also play a key role in the film, which also has four newcomers.

Speaking at the Satyajit Ray Foundation's film Festival celebrating six decades of Indian Cinema at the Nehru Centre in London on Wednesday night, Dev Anand introduced his 1965 classic film Guide and said, "I represent the world and I represent my country as I have seen it in the last 62 years."

"Today, Guide has been most discussed, most talked about and most liked film and one of the best films ever produced since 1960s. People have seen it 30 to 40 times," he said.

He narrated the circumstances under which Guide was first produced in English and how the entire film was re-shot in Hindi to suit the ethos and culture of India as "extra-marital relation was considered a taboo subject."

The veteran actor-producer said he was at the Cannes Film Festival when Guide was screened in the classic section on May 20. "I thoroughly enjoyed the English version after nearly 42 years," he said.

"I got so enthused that I announced I am going to come back with a film in the Competition Section," he said. After 'Chargesheet', the legendary actor also plans to make two international films. The first one is titled "When Heart Beats Are The Same", in which there are only two characters- father and son. Dev Anand will play the role of the father.

The second one will be "Song of Life", based on Indian Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar's relationship with his daughter Norah Jones.

Director of Nehru Centre, Monika Kapila Mohta, who described Dev Anand as "legendary icon of the Indian cinema" hosted a dinner in his honour, which was attended among others by Asif Ibrahim, Minister, Coordination in the High Commission, NRI entrepreneur Rami Ranger and Chief of Vitabiotics, the largest vitamin producing company in the UK, Kartar Lalvani.
