Rajeev Bhalla’s real wife wants him to quit Karol Bagh
Indresh Mallik, who’s playing the role of a slimy, lecherous character Rajeev Bhalla, in Zee TV’s 12/24 Karol Bagh is facing trouble on the homefront. The recent episodes which had him trying to rape his soon-to-be wedded wife, Simmi, in the show has got him a lot of flak from the Delhi public. Recently when Indresh, with his wife, visited the Jhandewala Temple in the capital, people shot dirty glances at him and stayed at an arm’s distance. They even, in a very mean way, addressed his wife and enquired on how she manages to stay with such a man. Indresh’s wife, who understands that it’s only his on-screen image that’s driving such reactions from the audience, is not very happy about receiving such feedback at public places. According to her, stepping out of the house has now turned into a bitter experience and she worries that someone on the road will start abusing Indresh and is trying to convince him to quit the show. Indresh actually is a fashion designer, who had no acting aspirations till he landed with this offer at the producer’s office.

Sukh By Chance, the promos of which are being shown on Sony is being produced by Hats off production. A slice-of-life show, it is about being sukh by choice and not by chance. Says producer Majethia, “It is about a middle-class family, its values and ethics.” Has the title been inspired by Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance, we ask JD? “No, my title and the subject was registered two years ago, much before Luck By Chance,” he clarifies. The show is being directed by Dipesh Shah, who has helmed Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. Majethia is also working on a kiddie show for Disney, the pilot for which has already been shot. He is also working on his film Khichdi based on their hit show of the same name. “40 per cent of the shooting is complete,” says Majethia who has taken the same cast that was in the serial. There, are however, a few additions, which he will divulge at a later date.
