The Gayatri Mantra is one of the most potent Vedic mantras known to mankind. Chanting and listening to the mantra ensures a healthy mind, a fit body and a fulfilling life that one has always wanted to lead. The Gayatri Mantra bestows upon its seeker universal knowledge and helps him find eternal wisdom.
While there are many musical products of similar nature, what sets this album apart is the rendition by Padma Bhushan Jagjit Singh. His dulcet voice, emotion-laden rendition and divine expression brings one the closest to experiencing the benevolence of the Gayatri Mantra.

Jagjit Singh has many devotional and Gurbani renditions to his credit. The success of these albums puts him in a league of his own. The soothing effect that Jagjit Singh’s voice has on frayed nerves has often been referred to as a stress reliever.

The second product differentiator is the musical composition done for this album. Jagjit Singh has set the mantra recitation in Raag Yaman Kalyan, which is also popularly known as the Deepak Raag. Raag Yaman Kalyan is an ujwalit (enlightening) raag. Composing the Gayatri Mantra in this raag has strengthened its power. The Gayatri Mantra is believed to positively affect all our chakras when heard or chanted along at dawn, noon and dusk.

The third innovation that Big Music’s release brings to the consumer is that one album contains three musical variations to suit different personalities and lifestyles. The first rendition is a pure acoustic version. At times of personal introspection, when all one wants to do is be with one’s self, it is recommend to listen to this rendition of the Gayatri Mantra. The second variation is a Gayatri Mantra recitation with a rhythmic music track, ideal to load on the iPod, laptop or playback in the car. The tempo is faster than the previous piece and is recommended for an outdoor situation like walking, driving a car or working in the office. It can also be set as a ring-tone.The third set is a mid-tempo track with rhythm and harmony. It makes the listener feel one with the world. It can be used for playback in public places like temples, offices and schools. It is also, ideal for subscription as a Caller Tune.

Speaking about their foray into the spiritual genre, Kulmeet Makkar, CEO - Big Music & Home Entertainment commented, “The average citizen today is inundated with news and information that beats his morale down everyday. Economic recession, unemployment, religious fanaticism, peer pressure and insecure personal relationships have a bear-like grip on almost everybody. People are desperately seeking release from their strenuous lifestyle and this is where we come in with our bouquet of spiritual music and audio offerings. We are proud to have Jagjit Singh on board with this Gayatri Mantra album. Moving ahead we have planned two more albums by Jagjit Singh. This launch will be followed by another spiritual product based on the Mahamritunjay Mantra and a brand-new ghazal album.”
