Congress under pressure by Ashok on 2008-10-30 12:01:56.973967+05:30 The person who wanted all these to happen is a happy man now. He wanted to create furore in the minds of maharashtrians and he has succeeded. We the common people are suffering beacuse of this. Native mumbaikars never in the wildest of their dreams have felt that northies are responsible for all their sufferings. This man made them think and to a large extent moulded their minds, they now belong to the same herd. It would be stupidity to beleive that he wants to create new society as he always says. Its high time the congress take necessary action to stop all these otherwise we are no short of a partition what we had seen years back.

Raj Thakrey is fooling the entire Marathi community by Nimish Mehta on 2008-10-30 11:51:47.114005+05:30 The comments made here in favor of Raj Thakrey only justifies Goondaism and casteism just because it has been perpetrated in states like Bihar and UP. They are not understanding that very culture has left UP and Bihar as the most backward state and Mumbai as the commercial capital. It seems Mumbai is in race to loose culture and character against UP and Bihar. If we have problems with Laloo and Mulayam, we should deal with them rather than targeting all UP and Biharis. These will only make the likes of Laloo and Mulayam stronger in our country.

Marashtra by Avinash Baranwal on 2008-10-30 10:50:35.380998+05:30 Great news for India. We were taught in school, how India was united from around 700 'Desi Riyasat'...Now it seems we are going U turn. Great...Back to Pavelian.Anyway, good to see a great Maratha behaviour.People are blaming Bihar for lawlessness...I am sure if we shouldl take lessons from Maharashtra as a law abiding place. The recent examples of Murders are live proof.Maharashtrians have every right to claim for the fruits, whose tree was nursed and grown up by a PAN INDIAN community and not only Marathi manoos(or amanoos).Silense of intellectuals and print media person is great. After all, of speech is silver then silense is gold.People are saying the jobs are only for Biharis...I am sure there much be a strong proof for this...after all the central govt have made all the rules for Biharies only, although it is welknown that candidates from all India were appearing in this test. Aha, what a great common sense of Great Indian Public. Surely, we are progressing.-:)

Shame proof Politicians. by Goel R.P. on 2008-10-30 10:08:16.694049+05:30 The dirty game of politics of allegatins and counter allegations over isues andnon issues in this country have become a fashion of life to be live in News in this country. People like Raj Thakery and his MNS goons in the name oftheir mother toungue " Marathi Manoos" deserves no takers in a democracy.Such like people should be sternly dealt with.Alas for lack of a will to govern politicians like R.R.Patial behave as if they are the kings and the masses, fools of the first water.Let the Almighty prevail wisdom and tell the separatist forces that Mankind is supreme and not their politics of voter-bank. Every country man feels himself helpless under the shadow of these Rulers, particularly the Indian National Congress whose leaders speak different languages suited to their lust of Governance.

Divisive tendency by U N Han on 2008-10-30 09:05:10.883006+05:30 Developmwnt of Mumbai by British colonialist due to proximity to port is the root cause for the present day crisis. After indepndence the Congress adopted the same policy ignoring other regions. Farm outputs have become negligible. But population has increased. Unemployed people migrate seeking green pastures. Congress is the main culprit for the presnt day situation. They encouraged businessmen in Mumbai giving them all sorts of subsidies following the foot steps of their British masters. . These businessmen contributed funds for election to the Congress besides greaing the palms of politicians.. Step motherly treatment of other States by Congress Govt. paved way for migration.. Maharashtrians are not responsible for this present status, but the Congress Govts. at the Centre and the State are the main culprits.

Crocodile tears of Lalu, Nitish and Paswan by Chandramohan Shinde on 2008-10-30 08:18:53.713629+05:30 Lalu, Nitish and Paswan must realise that during their own regime BIHAR has become worst state to live even for BIHARI people. Extortion, Kidnapping, burglary and coal mafiya has become a flurishing industry there. Civilised people cannot survive there. Industrialists, enterprenuers avoid Bihar. Law and order situation is worst. Broad day light killings by public has become common. Incidences like a police officer dragging a criminal by tieing him behind his motor bike or stripping a women by public on the doubt of stealing were shown on TV channels. Nitish was keeping quiet then. These leaders have sucked blood of the state and kept it backward for their own interest. Migrant Biharis in other state get ashamed to address themselves as Biharis. These selfish leaders cannot point fingers at Maharashtra. They must ask question to themselves that why people of their own state want to migrate to Maharashtra inspite of all those so called atrocities on them.

Raj Thakare needs to do look inward and think what is more important, national pride or indivaul ambition? marathis are progressing and are not only all over India but all over world. But how does it matter? India is for Indians and all Indians be treated EQUAL and should be treated as one nation. Raj Thakare is extending the logic practiced by Congress of deviding Indians based on religion, cast and language. May be the time has come for Indians to rethink about languastic devison of India and different rule foe different sectins and religions . May be,just may be We Indians can become pragmatic.

There is lots of legitimate anger and disaffection everywhere that must be addressed. Raj Thackeray - a big ZERO by True Indian on 2008-10-29 23:44:25.870047+05:30 I am supporter of no party but honestly Raj Thackeray has been made a hero by the 'illiterate' and 'lazy' Maharashtrians. In their zeal they forget to ask what has he done for them till now?? What are his credentials except that he has a famous surname by birth?? Does people fighting on his venom know that Thackerays are themselves immigrant to Mumbai and they also came from far away place and now trying to call the shots here? He doesn't know there are lots of Maharashtrians living in complete harmony in several North Indian states, does he care for them? If he wants to send back every North Indians from Mumbai is he willing to take back those established Maharashtrians from other states? He has no fan following amongst educated people who understands the Federal structure of our country. He is only for local people who understands gutter politics.Period He is nothing but a big ZERO except for rabble rousing skills. He has nothing worth talking to today's generation.

Both to Blame by Ayush on 2008-10-29 22:13:46.551908+05:30 Both sides are to be blamed. Bihar for not doing much to let the people work in their own land and Marathis for this kind of behaviour. They can bring some law for the industries to have a quota for Marathi domicile workers. Biharis work hard and provide good cheap labor work force which has been and will be utilized across the nation..There is no need for Maharashtrians to fear from it. Infact both Raj Thakre and Nitish should sit and talk. Raj is too arrogant for any discussion. I understand the feelings of Maharashtrians but this guy is simply arrogant and wont land much farther. Biharis to amend their behaviours by Dr.Arupanand Naik on 2008-10-29 21:42:14.842355+05:30 I stayed in Hazaribagh of Bihar and also in Nagpur of Maharashtra for many years during my service period. And it is my experience that the Biharis in general are notorious and they behave in an uncivilised manner. It is in their blood and in the food ,water and air they intake. They are very arrogant in their behaviour in comparison to Maharastrians.Maharastrians are more civlised and a cultured class. It does not mean that there no anti-social and goonda elements in Maharashtra.Although I am from other state I settled in Maharashtra and got all the respect as per my qualifications, knowledge and had been admired by general public over there. There is something wrong with the Biharis and some part of UP as both the states are adjacent to each other. These people must be taught in their schools, colleges and at their respective homes about the etiquettes, manners and how to behave in public and social life. There are some highly educated Biharis also. Each one is not a vagabond. With respect .

There should be no discrimination against caste , creed, religion or region. If any organisation violates this fundamental principle it should be dismantled immediately. Shiv Sena, MNS, Sangh Parivar all these organisations are inward looking , and do not allow other different beliefs and customs. If the present Maharastra govt is scared to act on these hooligans, it should quit immediately

Take care by Sandeep on 2008-10-29 20:41:49.415765+05:30 A person earning 50-100 Rs as daily wages and travelling almost half of india to come to bombay, is killed by some people. Can any of the pro- maratha people think about it. Imagine the same situation, lets assume someone from great maratha land is coming to Noida to work in some IT or BPO and if these Bhaiyaas will lynch him. I can not even think how can someone write a commment in favour of this violence against any particular community. Lets assume a hypothetical situation, lets assume all North Indians returns back to their native state. Then the so called big MNC will they be happy to operate in Maharashthra. Any business wants a safe place, where he can run his operations smoothely and this place any six yr old kid can tell you is everything but not smooth. Secondly those people who are in habit of hitting North Indians will start hitting some one from Maharastra itself. Becoz they have tasted the human blood which is salty in taste. Take care.

Laoo truly represent general Bihari public by Abhijit on 2008-10-29 20:23:07.039373+05:30 Laloo is a true representation of people from Bihar and UP. He is misusing his power as central minister and becoming a hypocrite, as expected. He is not asking the same punishment for those guys who burn trains in broad day light in Bihar, kill people, routinely harass railway passengers in almost all trains passing through Bihar. He is not doing justice as a central minister by imposing mainly people from Bihar in railway recruitments and ignoring unemployed youths from other states. It seems that he is not the railway minister for India but for Bihar.

Lesson for Bihar and UP by Jatin on 2008-10-29 20:15:34.741164+05:30 All qualified people from other states left Bihar long ago. My own family was in Bihar. My father was a doctor there in a small town. He wanted to settle there. But about 6 years ago he could not tolerate any more monkey business by local people, supported by local political leaders. We were forced to leave. We all thought that that’s how Bihar is and we all should get out of that state. So we left Bihar. All of the settled, reputed Bengali families ultimately left that small town and the state. There was no hue and cry, neither in Bihari-Hindi media nor in national media. Bihar must understand that it need to be civilized first if it want a place among civilized people elsewhere.

I think no Maharastrian will like their beloved city to become another Delhi. Some creatures (like Laloo, Paswan, Amar, Mulayam etc) prefer to live in a rotten condition and force others around them to do the same. But people form other places do prefer to live in a peaceful society with decent quality of life.

Bihar and UP must not assume responsibility to “enrich” Mumbai or MH by Jay on 2008-10-29 20:04:37.73497+05:30 Just yesterday Kolkata and many other parts of West Bengal witnessed Kalipuja and Diwali. There is a total ban on loud firecrackers and also on bursting any firecracker after 10 pm till 6 am in West Bengal and also by SC. certain areas in Kolkata and other towns witnessed rampant violation of this law. Such violation was mainly restricted to areas where Hindi-Gujrati-Marwari speaking people live. Anyone can see TV footage on how SC ruling on noise pollution was violated in our National capital, Delhi. Majority people from North India never develop any sense towards abiding laws mainly because they were born and brought up in a society that pride itself for breaking laws. Breaking laws are equated to social status and power. No wonder it’s very tough for them to get assimilated to any other culture, be it in MH or Bengal or Karnataka. Raj is doing right thing to protect his own culture in his own land.

Even in modern days you hardly find any industrialists who is Marathi, they are servant class and even in that they can not compete if they have to face exams. Their geographical landscape is boon for them, they should be thankful for their sea cost, not their average efficiency level.

Justification by ST on 2008-10-29 19:48:51.10063+05:30 Whereas a terrible event has occurred, prez rule In Maha. is not justified. if anything, Bihar and UP shud be under indefinite prez. rule. many yrs ago, when i lived in Mumbai, i gave up my seat to a woman and before she cud sit on it, a north Indian sat there and refused to vacate it. The problem with guys from the north is extreme arrogance and complete refusal to adjust to civilized behavior. one can only say that it is bcos of lack of culture in the north. whereas, some north Indians are great ppl and acclimatize well to Mumbai, the current influx seems to just want to take over. This post is not to condone "sena" political stunts but lets face it: there's far worse nonsense happening in UP and Bihar. Set those places straight b4 u try to set Maha. straight. Why didn't he say anything when enraged locals burned a train in Bihar , after some North Indians(mostly from Bihar) were beaten up during a Western Railway services exam?By not pointing out any particular state he has tried to be politically correct but we , the citizens do understand his statement's real meaning. The common man is no fool.

2 Unity in Diversity
by Bharatiya on 2008-10-30 07:12:43.279252+05:30Unless all Bharatiyas recognise and understand unity in diversity, Bharat will disintegrate.Uttar Bharatiya brothers must first learn to respect diversity of cultures across Bharat by assimilating into the local culture. Not showing their cultural hegemony. Once they respect diversity, reciprocal brotherhood automatically is generated by locals. Therein lies the secret of Unity; By respecting diversity. My fellow Bharatiyas, respect local culture wherever you live. The locals will reciprocate thus preventing this divisive mentality. Jai Hind.

1 law of jungle in maharashtra
by anjaan on 2008-10-30 10:23:32.496182+05:30these days maharashtra seems to be the jungle where the law of jungle is followed.raj thackeray , the so called saviour of maharashtrian culture, thinks that before him the maharashtra culture has declined and he is there to revive it. he talks about the north indians polluting their culture but what about gujratis, bengalis, parsis and so else.are they not foolowing their own and polluting culture of maharashtra. is this the culture of maharashtra to beat the innocent and helpless labourers who earn their livelihood by working hard day and night . or the people of maharashtra have left their culture for the sake of proving them to be superior than the rest. raj's grandfather wasn't a maharashtrian so it means that if that great old man was living alive than raj would have thrown his own grandfather out of maharashtra???????

Hate bring only hate and destruction. Indian Government should immediately ban speeches on hate and communal sensitive issues. Leaders who disobay this order should be booked under terrorist act. This is no less than a crime again destroying and war against India. India and all its cities and resources are for all Indians. If people talk like Maharashtrians, Gujratis, Biharis then who is called as Indian. Time for wake up Dr. Manmohan Singh, do some hard decisions before the fire engulf the complete nation.

Do you think they got it on merit. If we talk of merit why is centre not allowing the students from Maharshtra to write exams in marathi. Why is the schedule of railway exam set such that sutdent from Bihar can attend all exams in all zones(North, centrail, east, west, south) and sutdents from othere zones have alwasy exam in 1 zone clashing. Does that mean, we keep dividing people under the name of castes? Why could not Raj Thakrey bring those "correct statistics" and bring it to the notice of people. Let his power be used by that way. Shiv Sena has local body called "Lokadhikar Samitee" which is full of hardcore criminals operating under the aegis of Marathi Manoos and never allows Hindi speaking people in Jobs since last 60 years. That is the reason most of the north Indians are doing their own small business like selling vegetable on thefoot path and pulling auto rickshaw. Best Bus drivers and conductors can not be a Hindi Speaking person now in Bombay. There is a rule made during last Shiv Sena regime that no jobs will be given to non-Marathis in BEST bus services. The organised crimes against North Indians have blessing of Maharashtra government since last 60 years and it is high time Bombay must be separated from Maharashtra and brought under Center's rule.

Common sense by AKK on 2008-10-29 14:25:25.598758+05:30 Common sense says it is always better for the state / country to be manufacturing / services base and have access to markets. It is better for Maharashtra that the movies are made in Mumbai and sold in the rest of India. Similarly cars made in Maharashtra, goods imported through MPT, Head office operations of Central Government and banks, private companies all create jobs in Maharashtra while these goods and services are exported in the rest of India. As a result there is some labor import in Maharashtra. It is totally against common sense to close a state to all trade with the rest of India just to stop some labor migration. Remittances from such labor must be miniscule compared to what Maharashtra earns due to export of goods and services to rest of India.

Hindi Imposition by Kannadiga on 2008-10-29 13:22:03.943136+05:30 The core issue is "Jobs for locals" in the unskilled category. Surprisingly no media or political party is ready to discuss that matter !! I dont know about other states, but in Karnataka, lalu is upto some dirty games. First he abolished Kannada sign boards Karnataka railways. Now he is in the process of abolishing kannada reservation forms. The advertisements for railway jobs always appears in all Hindi papers and never in any regional newspaper. It is clear from his actions that he wants to give all railway jobs to Hindi people. Railways being a central govt entity, everybody should get equal representation and all languages identified as national languages in Constitution should get equal respect. What we are seeing in maharastra is the result of these dirty politics and also due to Hindi imposition on non Hindi speaking public. Please abolish Hindi as national language and replace English - that way everyone will a fair ground to play.

I appeal to all the nationalistic minded and those in authoritative positions to take necessary action to approach Supreme court to scrap all the recruitments done in Lalu's era and order re boards.

sad day for indian democracy by sunil on 2008-10-29 12:28:35.146679+05:30 it's black day for indian democracy when people lose their right to chose their workplace. Why someone has to go so low to take a abourers life bcoz he is working out to earn living for his family. It's a shameful day for maharastrians and indians. May god give strength to family members to bear this shock. 1 life cut short for some political gain

Solution for India by patriot indian on 2008-10-29 12:28:25.129551+05:30 Hate mongering, unjust, biased opinion, rioting in the name of religion, violence in the name of religion, region or due to victimization of machinery and state is no answer. Hate and anger only results in more hate, anger and violence. Indian government should declare rioting as terrorist attack, speeches with hate should be declared as attack against Indian unity, only then people will stop. Also starting from LKG to higher education and in workplace peace loving should be taught and all controversial references in History books against any community or region should be removed. Meet with hate mongerers and advise them to come to good manners. It is difficult but not impossible. Once readers of this message accept this, then they can explain to others and this peace can progress. Justice and love for all is the only solution for eternal peace. Remove suspicion from one another. Revenge should be converted into forgiveness. Anger should be controlled as always wrong decision is taken.

Raj has taken cue from these organisation as to how to come to limelight and divide the people of India on religion and region basis. What goes around comes around.
