The delay in Aishwarya’s return to Mumbai was triggered by an entire day’s shoot being cancelled after an elephant created havoc on the sets at Athirampally waterfalls in Kerala’s Thrissur district. However, the incident did not take place while shooting a sequence for the film but when one of the two elephants brought for pre-production approval turned amok, killing his mahout. Meanwhile, the Animal Welfare Board has issued Mani Ratnam’s production house – Madras Talkies with a show cause notice for not taking permission to use elephants in the film.
