Tell us about your role in Singh is Kinng.
Well, I play this character Julie in the film. She is a small-time actress and wants to make it big in Bollywood. It was a good role and was fun playing this character.
Was your character named Julie after your film, Julie?
(Laughs) That is one funny incident. Actually Anees had initially decided to name my character Rosy, but then I was the one who suggested Julie. I thought why not take a cue from my film and have that as my name. Anees liked the idea and so it was Julie.
Is it a glamorous role?
Of course! If it has me it has to be glamorous. And the character is that of an aspiring Bollywood actress, so she has to be well-dressed. I am wearing stylish clothes throughout the film.
Why did you accept this role considering that Katrina Kaif is already playing the lead?
I am taking up the best of the offers that are coming my way. I cannot expect a lead role in every film that I am offered. But I really liked the role that Anees considered me for and decided to do it. Also the film is an out-and-out entertainer and I am sure everyone will enjoy the film.
So did you get along with Katrina Kaif during the film?
I did not have any scenes with her. Even if there was a scene we never shot together. She is good to work with but I do not know her personally.
And how was it working with Akshay?
Oh! He is one of my favourite co-stars. There is not a dull moment when he is around. His energy is never-ending and he inspires everyone around him. He is also a big prankster, but after Singh is Kinng I am used to his pranks.
Apparently you have done quite a lot of stunts in the film.
Yes! But I don’t know how much of these stunts you are going to see in the film.
What expectations do you have from Singh is Kinng?
Well, like I said it’s a complete entertainer and we promise you nothing but three hours of pure entertainment. Besides that I am being positive and I hope that people like my performance and role in the film.
From Julie to Mithya, how has the journey been?
Oh exciting and full of action! I am so glad that I did Mithya because it was one film that changed people’s perception about me. After I did Julie people thought I could only do roles like that and now finally everything is changing.
How was it working with Rajat Kapoor?
Rajat Kapoor is a dear friend. I am really thankful that he cast me in Mithya. Working with him was great and I am looking forward to doing more films with him. I am also doing I am 24 and Raat Gayi Baat Gayi with him.
Are you planning to stick to multi-starrers?
I don’t think there is anything wrong in doing a multi-starrer film as long as your role has some potential. I am really happy that I did Dus Kahaniyaan. It’s all about the kind of impact your role creates.
Which do you prefer -a specific diet or a workout session?
I swear by Yoga. It is the best form of exercise one can do to relax the mind and body. Also my dietician makes sure I do not starve. I have small meals throughout the day but avoid fried and sweet stuff.
Ritwik Bhattacahrya and you have been making a lot of public appearances together but you still deny seeing him.
Why don’t you ask Ritwik about this? I am sure he will be able to give you an answer.
You were offered Khatron Ke Khiladi. Why didn’t you take it up?
Yes, I was offered Khatron Ke Khiladi. I even consideried taking it up but then later backed out because I know for a fact that I am stronger than all the 13 contestants on the show!
Would you do a film with Rajat Kapoor or Harry Baweja?
Now this is really difficult question. Actually both. I can’t choose one of them.
