Launch Vehicle
Runway is an action-thriller produced under J 71 Studio, our home production banner. The film is about events that happen over a period of three days. I play the role of Allen, a guy who goes to Mauritius, meets three characters and falls into a trap. It’s a role every common man can relate to as it is about a non-assuming individual who takes the first foreign trip of his life.
Casting Coup
It is a family production, so I did not have to audition for the role. I hadn’t exactly planned it but I knew for sure that I wanted to do a thriller. So when we were looking for a good script and we came across this one, everything just fell in place.
Stepping-Stone
I have done an acting course with Kishore Namit Kapoor. Apart from that, my years in the military school hostel at Nashik saw me developing keen interest in sports, horse-riding and martial arts.
First Shot
The first shot was at Daman, wherein I was required to play football. We were about 12-13 of us shooting together and since it was the first shot, we weren’t even sure which teams we belonged to and it was good fun. Though we didn’t have much retakes, there were about 15-20 takes for editing purpose.
Stumbling Block
I play the role of a Christian in the film but personally, I am not one. To play the part convincingly was a challenge.
Lessons Learnt
I realised that one has to be extremely focussed on their character. It is a continuous process and one has to deliver convincing results every day. Expressions have to be maintained throughout the film.
Matinee Idol
It has to be Leonardo Di Caprio. I am a huge fan of the actor’s work in Blood Diamond and Departed.
Future Projects
I have signed two projects with outside banners. However, I am not allowed to reveal any details at this stage.
