I was glad to read the full page article on Mahendra Kapur in the latest Screen issue dated October 16. Undoubtedly, he was a very good singer. I presume his first success was with Navrang under music direction of Anna (C. Ramchandra). He was very successful with B.R. Films with whom he worked till T.V. epic serial Mahabharat. He started with Dharamputra, Dhool Ka Phool, Waqt, Gumrah, Humraaz, Dhund and again made a successful comeback of sorts with Nikaah. He was equally good with Manoj Kumar movies in Hariyali Aur Rasta and Upkar. He then went on to sing in Shor, Purab Aur Pacchim and also Kranti which was made in the early eighties. We will pray that his soul rests in peace and wish all the best to his son Rohan, who I believe has a good voice.
