The first poem:
lFrom the age of 14, Aditya has been writing his poetic thoughts in four-line verses (called Chaar Olli in Marathi). But the difference between most poets and Aditya is that he pens them not just in mother-tongue Marathi but also in Hindi and English. He even makes use of French sometime!

Public debut:
lThrough Orkut, Aditya was approached to pen and recite a tribute poem on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Ustad Bismillah Khan. The poem “Ek Parinda” was highly appreciated.

Ummeed:
lMayuresh Pai and Aditya came together on this Hindi project for Times Music. The songs cover different aspects of life, from spirituality to love. There are French passages also in Woh mujhko and Aditya has also rapped in English in the same song. Aditya has also done a voiceover in anothr track and his brother Tejas has also sung on one track.

Inspiration:
lThere is no deliberate attempt to write in any of the three languages. “When something strikes me, if nothing else is available, I write on my mobile-phone. For example, if a thought comes in Marathi, I write in that language. Some of my Hindi poems, language-wise, are inspired by Atal Behari Vajpayeeji,” he says.

Hobby vis-à-vis academics:
l“I am studying in the Twelfth standard. Only after I finish my education will I decide whether to follow poetry as a profession or become a lyricist.”

The depth of poetry:
l“I accept there are certain limitations as a poet because I am still 17 and not experienced enough in life. But on the other hand, being a teenager with a certain awareness can be the best age because you can get a fresh perspective,” says Aditya.

The prodigy:
l“My family is proud of my talent. They have all encouraged me a lot and I intend to be very careful about the quality of my poetry.”
