An eye witness account of what transpired between Nana Patekar and Tanushree on the set of Horn Ok Pleassss

In a make-up van
Attired in a purple tube top and a knee length dhoti skirt we watch as Tanushree Datta gyrates gracefully to the blaring Sabnam ka katra jala hai….. Choreographer Ganesh Acharya scrutinises her movements. She appears to be in a good mood as she sits down for a breather. Nodding in the affirmative when we ask for to an interview, however she says she does not want to talk about the item number as she would first like to watch the song when it is complete, and talk about it close to the release of the film. Once inside her van she chats about Rama-The Saviour the action-packed children’s film in which she together with Saahil Khan helps six children on a treasure hunt. She does not, however, hesitate to add that she regrets doing Shona Urvashi’s Saas Bahu Aur Sensex. “I have a great role, but the whole team, including director were not pleasant persons to work with. The director reportedly called me psychotic and the next Praveen Babi in the making. She had the gall to send some people to come snooping on the sets of this song! Why I don’t know,” she says in an agitated tone. “She is trying to malign me, but people who have worked with me have said good things about me.” After exchanging a few pleasantries we leave her to have her lunch.

No cheek contact
It is almost two, lunch is over and Nana Patekar arrives on the sets as he is part of the item song. He changes into a blue kurta and white dhoti and jacket all set to shoot for the song. But when we enter the set it is Nana who is practicing his dance steps alone. There is tension on director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya’s faces. When Nana finishes his rehearsal he is heard telling the director in Marathi that if Tanushree does not report in five minutes he would leave. The whisper is that the actress does not want to do one movement which requires her to touch Nana’s cheek. Though annoyed, Nana is game for an interview, in which he expresses his disapproval at such behaviour. The commotion takes us out to Tanushree’s van. Her secretary, Jamshedji appeared harried as he keeps shuttling between Tanushree and the director. Meanwhile her parents too have arrived and are seated in her van. TV channel crew by now throng her van. Once again we trudge inside where Nana is sitting patiently and surprisingly Tanushree walks in with her parents. She goes on the dance floor and after rehearsing hers steps she once again comes to sit down between her parents, for the first time in the day with a cloak wrapped around her. The director signals Nana to leave and promptly Tanushree also gets up and leaves once again entrenching herself in her van.
We follow Nana to his van to complete the interview. More press people surround her van and coax her to come out and say what happened but she refuses to budge. Meanwhlile producer Sami Siddhiqi make sit clear that if she is not ready to shoot now he would replace her.

Final verdict
Tanushree Datta: Last heard she complained to the Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) demanding compensation and for damage to her car and reputation.
Nana Patekar: He said been in the industry for over two decades he can give suggestions and tips to youngsters onthe sets. And does not want to comment on all this silliness.
Rakhi Sawant: She was only to happy to replace Tanushree for the item number and has already completed the song.
