At the Park Hotel, Chennai, the launch of Muthirai saw some touching moments as the family and friends of late cinematographer- director Jeeva gathered to make his dream into a reality. Jeeva’s wife Anees Tanveer founded Vision Jeeva Studios to launch its maiden production Muthirai in association with A.S.A Production & Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. Vikram Bhatt presents the film starring Nitin Sathya, Daniel Balajee, Lakshmi Rai and Manjari Padnis in the lead. It is to be directed by Jeeva’s assistant Srinath.
Veteran cinematographer P.C. Sreeram and ad filmmaker P. Jayendra with whom Jeeva started his career, were present along with Jeeva’s close friend actor Vikram. P.C said more than an assistant, Jeeva was a dear friend. “I liked the way he made Unnalae Unnalae and sent him a congratulatory message. But within a month I had to hear the sad news from Russia, where he was making Dham Dhoom and succumbed to a sudden heart attack. It is a personal loss for me,” he said.
Bhatt shared his close moments with Jeeva during their early days in the industry. “His energy levels are simply amazing. His picturisation of song sequences and the way he uses colours show case his talent,” he opined.
Anees wrote the story and screenplay. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music while Jeeva’s assistant Salim cranks the camera. One can expect the stamp of quality from a Jeeva’s work from such talented associates.
