It’s a big deal but it doesn’t position us as a number one family! Though Reliance and AB Corp will be working together there is no particular number of films that we have to do within a particular timeframe!

The Reliance deal with AB Corp will not affect the creative aspect of my film, Pa, which has Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan in a light-hearted father-son relationship in any way. Any tie-up like this is a step forward for the industry, as it invites and attracts new talent like actors, scriptwriters!

It’s a huge, huge announcement, but as of now I know only as much about the deal as anyone else. But where Aladdin, the project I am doing with Amitabh Bachchan is concerned, it is an independent venture and the deal will have no bearing on it. It is going to be two separate worlds for the Bachchans.
The films that they do under the Reliance-AB deal and then the other independent projects. From now on whichever movies Amitabh Bachchan is working in will have a wider canvas and bigger stakes, and film-makers will look at Amitabh Bachchan in a new light!

The film industry is moving forward and this deal is another step in that direction. But as a filmmaker I cannot say that every film the Bachchans do will have huge stakes. If it is a big film this kind of backing will definitely help to raise the level of the project, but if you are making a small film you would not change the script just because you have the backing. Abhishek is in my forthcoming project but it’s in the pre-production stage and only when that is complete can we decide the scale of the film.
