Kareena Kapoor gets talking about her envious looks, acting with beau Saif and the much-awaited Tashan

What is the character you are playing in Tashan like?
I play Pooja Singh in the film, She is a complex character and I have never played a role like this before. She always follows her heart, but she is also very sharp. There are certain circumstances that have led her to be what she is and whatever she does has a very strong reason behind it.

What was your experience working with Anil Kapoor and Akshay Kumar?
Anilji knows me since I was a kid. He is like family to me. I learnt a lot working with him. The way he has played this character is just unbelievable.
I have done movies before with Akshay and I have known him since he did his first film. I am most comfortable with Akshay as a co-star, maybe because he has seen me in school uniform with two pigtails.

How is Saif as a co-star?
Saif, I think can do any role. The kind of nuances he adds to his character, the way he speaks and modulates his voice - you can just learn so much from him. Besides it feels so nice and warm to work with him. I hope to do many more movies with Saif.

Who has designed your look in this film?
Aki Narula, who is one of the most talented designers we have. I think the whole idea of keeping my look grunge and rugged has worked because I don't think an Indian actress has really done that on screen before. Normally an Indian actress is particular about her hair being in place and looking beautiful. We have brought a lot of sexiness to the character through the clothes, make up and hair.

What do you think of your director Vijay Krishna Acharya?
Victor (Vijay Krishna) is a fantastic writer. I think to be a good director you need to be a good writer. He knows the pulse of the audience. Though this is a commercial film Victor wanted his characters to be very real. I think that way you can connect more with the audience. He gives his actors a lot of space.

What is your Tashan quotient?
My Tashan lies in the way I am, my attitude towards life, towards work and towards people.
