Rishi and Neetu Kapoor launch mega-album
Music Today’s 8-CD set The Great Big Punjabi Wedding had a mega-launch with a live performance in New Delhi’s DLF Emporio on October 30. The concept was unique and performances by Runa Laila, Sunanda Sharma, Radhika Chopra and Jasbir Jassi were among the highlights. The songs in this collection have been composed and written by various names and most of the lyrics are traditional.
Pt. Bhimsen Joshi’s work on 14 CD-set
Saregama India Ltd. has come out with a 14-CD set of Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi’s repertoire, The Complete Works- Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, a 14-CD pack. This pack holds his entire works including his early, rare recordings in Hindustani Classical music as well as Marathi, Hindi and Kannada music and his film songs over three decades.
The 14-CD audio pack is priced at Rs 1999. Raags like Multani, Bhairavi, Puriya, Suha Kanada, Basant, Miyan Malhar, Puriya, Shuddha Kalyan, Miyan Ki Todi, Thumri Mishra Kafi, Abhogi, Darbari, Thumri Jogiya, Miya Malhar, Puriya Kalyan Malkauns, Marubihag, Miyan Ki Todi, Puriya Dhanashri, Yaman Kalyan, Pooriya, Durga, Asavari Todi, Lalat Bhatiyar, Jaijaiwanti, Tilak Kamod and Bhairavi and many more, Thumri and devotionals like Ram Shyam Gun Gaan with Lata Mangeshkar are incorporated along with Marathi and Kannada devotional music, his work in Hindi and Marathi films as playback singer and his songs for plays as well as his tributes to his gurus.
