Rituparna releases Arabian Bbabe

Actress Rituparna Sengupta was the chief guest at the audio release function of Amaan Entertainment’s Arabian Bbabe, a musical album on May 5 at a suburban banquet hall.

Swiss Music is marketing the album. Among those present were Yogesh Lakhani of Bright Advertising, director Adiman and model Megha Khan, who thanked her choreographers Pappu – Malu for their “brilliant choreography”. The album has music by Pramod Nair with lyrics by Vimal Keshyap and Praveen Agrawal, Vinod Rathod, Sahil Rehan and Shraddha Pandit are the singer. Rajeev Khandelwal has directed the video album with ultra modern shots with a sweeping granger unseen in recent times. Amit Verma, chairman of Swiss Music, was also present.

Najam released
Frankfinn Music released Pakistani rock-star Najam Sheraz’s self-titled album Najam at a Mumbai suburban store on April 25. The album has been recorded in studios in UK and has leading Western musicians performing on its 11 tracks. It is being globally marketed by Frankfinn Entertainment.
The video for the song Khwabon kay rishtay deals with real issues faced by teenagers and tells the stories of three such girls.

Music News
Pritam enters Shah Rukh Khan territory for the first time with the actor’s home production Billoo Barber. The film directed by Priyadarshan has lyrics by Gulzar, who had earlier done SRK’s home productions Asoka and Paheli. Gulzar had worked with Pritam before in Just Married.
Pritam is likely to record with Neil Nitin Mukesh in a forthcoming film starring the actor. This will mark Neil’s singing debut as the third Mukesh generation to face the microphone.

Bappi Lahiri records for Shamir Tandon
Shamir Tandon has always been known for recording with off-beat singers at a time when the industry is recording with young voices. He got composer BappiLahiri to sing a song for Mumbai Chakachak, which is produced by Suniel Shetty in conjunction with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Says Shamir, “Bappida’s voice is very unique and has a fun texture and we have all grown up listening to him and his music. This is a fun song with a strong message and I knew that Bappida would be a great choice. Even though he is a legend, you hardly feel intimidated by him as he is so easy-going and hassle-free.” The song was recorded on the auspicious day of the Bengali New Year.

Mumbai Cutting has a unique music score
The directors of the 11-film Mumbai Cutting have come up with a very innovative way to incorporate music in the ten minute space of each film. The music directors include Jeet Ganguly (who has composed the OST of Mumbai Cutting sung by Ali Azmat and Papon), Sanjeev Srivastava who has composed for director Ayush Raina’s film with Shafaqat Ali Khan as the singer.
Papon has composed for Ruchi Narayan’s film and the song is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan . Euphoria feature with Shreya Ghoshal in the Manish Jha film, while Indian Ocean have composed for Anurag Kashyap . Shashanka Ghosh’s film has music by Amartya Sen and the song is sung by Nachiketa. Jeet Ganguly has composed one more track for the film which is the opening montage and is sung by Papon. Ali Azmat has written, composed and sung for Rahul Dholakia’s film while Fuzon has composed the romantic track for the film.

The album covers genres like electronic, Baul, Sufi, rock, soft rock, romantic and others.
