




"I have started my career with Bollywood but nobody recognised me. But now after many hit bhojpuri films under my belt, I have been offered some good movies, says the actor, adding that he has four films in his kitty. Money Hai to Honey Hai and Loot with Govinda. Then Soham's Luck in which Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan and Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti play the main lead, besides Sanjay Dutt, and Mithun Chakraborty and last but not the least, Mahadev with Shyam Benegal," he says.
Besides Bollywood films, Ravi Kishan also has five Bhojpuri films in his hands. Chak de Bihar, a story that encourages the youth of Bihar to find employment in the state itself and help the state to grow instead. He is also featuring in Bihari Mafia, a true story on a powerful muscle man. Similar to it is Bhagwat, a story of a youth, who joins mafia in his distress.
Ravi admits that Hindi films will help him to reach audiences world-wide. However, Ravi's own production house, Mahadev Film Private Limited, will also be producing five films in the coming years.
New talents from the reality show Ek se Badhkar Ek, like Shayantani Gosh, Kushaal Punjabi, Amrapali will also get roles in the coming films, produced by his production house.
Ravi is the anchor of this reality show.
Ask him about his new role as an anchor, and the actor smiles and says, "I am loving it." The actor is quite upbeat about his new role. "I am quite excited about the fact that it is for the first time that I am anchoring a reality show. The channel wanted me to be just me," he says, adding I don't read lines from a tele-promptor. I am realistic on the show and say what I feel."
"I don't fall short of words because I have to say what I feel", he adds. "There is no script for the show as such, which means I am required to be spontaneous. Spontaneity is the USP of the show," he says.
The actor claims that he was little nervous before as the timing of the show was 7:30 pm, yet the initial TRP's reveal that the show is hit among viewers. "I promise that the show will be a rocking paisa vasool for the viewers."
He also admits that the format of the show is different from other reality shows. The show is quite unique because it is for the first time that there is a reality show in which you see both singers and dancers showcasing their talent on an single platform. If one is weak, the other has got to perform, to save their jodi, he says.
Ravi Kishan, who was also a judge for Yeh Hai Jalwa, however, says that he is enjoying anchoring more than more judging.
To being asked whether he likes the anchoring of Smriti Irani or Sakshi Tanwar, he says both are unique in their own respect. "Sakshi is chul-buli, whereas Smriti is more mature."
When asked how different is big screen from the small screen, pat comes the reply that it was the small screen which helped him to become a household name and earn accolades, as a participant in Big Boss. "Big Boss gave me name and fame," he says.
"On the other hand I was just popular in UP and Bihar, when I was doing only Bhojpuri films,” he adds. The actor, who began his career with Udhar ki Zindagi, featuring Kajol, at a very early age, 16-year-old, says it is difficult to sustain oneself in the industry. The actor, who has spent 20 years in the industry, adds it is not easy but interesting.
