




On the occasion of 'Global Handwashing Day', Sen interacted with school children from across the capital and advised them to wash hands with soaps before and after taking food.
"It is not an ordinary event because thousands of children die due to unhygienic conditions," the Bollywood actor said at the function organised by Sulabh International (SI). I think there are small things that can really prevent a lot of diseases," the actress said and distributed health kits to the children.
SI's vice-president Anita Jha said the organisation had launched the 'wash campaign' in 2006. The children performed a chorus song on good hygiene at the event.
Talking about Bollywood, Sen said, "I have only one movie as of now --"Mere khwabon mein jo aaye" in which I am acting as a Japanese wife."
The actress said daily exercise healthy food and consumption of lots of water helped her remain fit.
"As an actress, I need to take extra care of my skin. Good hygiene keeps me clean and healthy," she said. As every year, about 1.5 million children under the age of five years die from diarrhoea-related diseases; the United Nations has declared 15th October as 'Global Handwashing Day' this year.
