Proper screenplay missing in Black & White

From Kalicharan to Kisna,Subhash Ghai has directed all types of films with his own touch and style. Of course, his last two films Yaadein and Kisna were not up to expectations. Even after this, he has not gone back to his roots; commercial masala films, but tried a new subject in his latest film Black & White - a subject contemporary and timely.

I personally feel that Ghai has a noble soul within him showing his love for the Nation, his care for his fellow brothers from the Muslim community and over and above the message of love and peace he wants to convey through Black & White. There is no doubt of his motive, but the screenplay is not up to the mark and the film is boring from the very beginning. The change of heart of a terrorist was not justified.

Compared to Black & White, Aparna Sen’s Mr. & Mrs. Iyer was a much better film on communal harmony. And, Bobby Deol starrer Baadal directed by Raj Kanwar was a masterpiece work about a terrorist. The only saving grace of Black & White is Anil Kapoor’s outstanding performance. I see Dilipsaab’s shades in his acting, particularly in the scene after his wife’s killed.

Subhashji, don’t lose hope.Your talent deserves much more. Better luck next time....
