<b>Paris Hilton strips down to reveal “hot” energy plan</b>

Millionaire socialite Paris Hilton has jumped into the U.S. election campaign, calling Republican candidate John McCain a “wrinkly white-haired guy” and offering her own energy policy. The blonde Hilton, dressed in a leopard print swim suit and gold pumps, jokingly declared her own candidacy in a video posted on the website Funny or Die, saying, “I want America to know that I’m, like, totally ready to lead.” She was responding to a television ad by McCain, 71, that used her image to attack Democratic rival Barack Obama.
The 27-year-old socialite said McCain’s use of her in the ad, which sought to undermine Obama by likening his popularity to her celebrity, had effectively put her in the race for the top U.S. office. Pretending to take time off from reading a travel magazine as she leaned back on a lounge chair, Hilton insinuated herself into the hot issue between Obama and McCain — how to solve the U.S. energy crisis.

The Jacksons to be honoured in L. A.
Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael Jackson will be bestowed with the Icon award during a ceremony, which honours the most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs of the past year in the BMI repertoire. A BMI spokeswoman said Michael Jackson has yet to confirm his attendance but the others will be on hand at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills. As honorees, the Jacksons will not perform. Other artistes, as yet unannounced, will take the stage to cover the group’s songs.
Starting out as The Jackson 5 in their hometown of Gary, Ind., the siblings found fame at Motown Records where they enjoyed a string of hits beginning with 1969’s I Want You Back. Later smashes included Enjoy Yourself, Shake Your Body(Down to the Ground) and State of Shockwith Mick Jagger, released in 1984 at the height of Michael Jackson’s stardom.

Jackie Chan is taking his martial-arts high jinks to the neighbours, signing on to star in the action comedy The Spy Next Door. Chan plays a man who is called to baby-sit his neighbour’s children and ends up fighting off secret agents after one of the kids inadvertently downloads a secret code. Brian Levant (Are We There Yet?) will direct the project for financier Relativity Media. Chan, star of the hit Rush Hour trilogy, was in theatres earlier this year with The Forbidden Kingdom, which earned $51 million in North America.
