




Lingusamy to direct Vijay’s 51st film
Vijay’s 49th film Vettaikkaran is all set for release and he is already on to his 50th, Sura, directed by S.P.Rajkumar. And now comes news about his next venture. The latest buzz is that it is Lingusamy who would be directing Vijay’s 51st film. It is reported that Vijay has liked and approved a subject by Lingusamy and has given the go-ahead. There were rumours earlier that ‘Jeyam’ Raja may be the director of this film, but with Lingusamy coming into the picture, things have changed. The film is reportedly going to be a thriller.
Ganesh to lead in DDLJ remake
Ganesh is reportedly all set to play the lead in Maduve Mane, the Kannada remake of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol film that set records at the box-office. The film will be produced by H.A. Rahman, who had earlier remade in Kannada Tamil hits like Sethuand Vaanathaipole. Reports are that Rahman has discussed the matter with Ganesh, who is also interested in the project. The director would be Chinthan, who has been a leading dialogue writer and who’d be making his directorial debut with Maduve Mane, which would start rolling in January, as per latest reports. The heroine is yet to be finalised.
Maasi: Arjun, Sneha in lead roles
Action king Arjun and Sneha will be doing the lead roles in Maasi, the next film by director G.Kicha. Kicha’s last film was Bhavani, which was the remake of the Vijayashanthi film Vyjayanthi IPS and which had Sneha donning the role of a dare-all police officer. Maasi is also an action flick and has Arjun playing a cop. The film will have as its highlight high-voltage action sequences and is produced by K.S. Kovai Mani. Dina scores the music for the film which features lyrics by Yugabharathi and Thamarai.
Dileep goes in for charity
Dileep, who began as an assistant director to Kamal and went on to become a leading star in Malayalam films and then a leading producer too, has now decided to turn his attention to charity-related activities. The actor plans to start a charitable trust in the name of his father and has begun the preparations, along with his brother-in-law and actor Madhu Warriar. Dileep plans to do something to help the poor and the destitute and at the same time take up the task of sponsoring the education for children of poor families. Meanwhile Dileep’s latest release Swa Le got a decent run at the box-office and is still going smooth at some centres.
Film launched
G V Films’ Marathi film Kay Karu Na Kasa Karu was launched on November 29 with a 10-day schedule at Madh Island in Mumbai. The comedy stars Bharat Jadhav, Pushkar Shotri, Deepali Sayyed, Aditi Sarangdhar in leads with Vijay Chavan, Uma Sardeshmukh and Ashok Shinde in guest appearances. Written and directed by Vinay Laad for actor-producer Hemangi Rao, it has music by Nishikant Sadaphule.
