"I have used a couple of lines from Hema Malini's blockbuster film Dus Numbri. It's my honour and privilege that I have done something on her. Log to bhool jaate hai, hum ne to yaad kiya!" says Sherlyn.
On the new album she says, "The dard that I am talking about is the one which has no cure. It's the kind that makes you yearn to belong to someone special!"
This aspiring singer cum actress plans to carve a niche in the industry as a performer who can exude class and élan even in a two-piece bikini.
"They think it's about minimal clothing, pouting lips, arching eyebrows and the tangible assets. My USP (if that's what you are asking) is my effortless sexuality. All it takes is just one look," she says.
Known for her raunchy image, Sherlyn has no inhibitions about showing skin. "My photos are so fabulous that a curator would put them in a museum," says the model. Ask her what all she wishes to get from the industry in the next five years and she says after a long pause, "By then I would want to act in at least 10 films and get at least one award."
Her debut film Red Swastika sunk without a trace but she is all gung-ho for Bollywood and had done a 40-minute role in Yash Raj movie starring Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapur.
And make her comment on the fact that with music being more of a visual than an audio medium these days, does she ever think that she stands a better chance as a singer and pat she replies, "In my albums, there's more of my thoughts, my urges, my unspoken feelings and my world of sensuality. It sounds narcissistic. But that's the beauty of it."
Sherlyn does not have any qualms about her image. "One should not mix morality with sexuality. I believe sexuality is divine. There's nothing wrong in celebrating it. It's completely normal to believe in the assets one has been blessed with by God Almighty, both 'tangible' and 'intangible'. One could be spiritual, God fearing and yet have an outrageous approach to life."
