




This unique thematic classical vocal concert had Joshi as lyricist, composer and presenter and was held on November 7 at Mumbai’s Yashwant Natyamandir.
Indian Magic Eye was the producer of the concert, which was free for all music lovers. There was also a special discount offer on the purchase of the album The Complete Works - Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. Ajay Ambekar, Cultural Director of Maharashtra State, music director Ashok Patki and Sarangi Samrat Pandit Ram Narayan were present.
Shrinivas’s contribution to music has earned him various awards and accolades like the Dattopant Deshpande Puraskar Award and the Gaanasaraswati Award. He has also composed various music albums like Sukh Anupam, Marathi abhang, Bhaktabhilasha, Hindi bhajans and others.
Shrinivas has been trained in Kirana style in which the bhav or essence of the song is expressed with intense emotion. He is the last disciple of the Kirana Gharana doyen Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, who himself is the disciple of the legendary Sawai Gandharva, who received the gifted guidance of Ustad Abdul Karim Khan. Pt.Bhimsen Joshi is one of the greatest living legends in music.
