MAMI concludes, Tingya best film

The curtain came down on 10th MAMI International Film Festival with the screening of Cannes 2007 Grand Prix Winner Naomi Kawase’s Japanese film The Mourning Forest. MAMI’s introductory Global Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon veteran Spanish director Carlos Saura. Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor and Gulzar were the Hindi film personalities to be felicitated by Dev Anand.

International jury and FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) judged Tingya (Marathi) as the best film. Swati Sen was declared best actress for Antardwanda and Darsheel Safari as best child actor for Taare Zameen Par. In the Dimensions Mumbai section, Srinivas Sunderrajan won the first prize of one lakh for his Vaapsi.Aishwarya S. for the second prize of Rs 30,000 for her Mumbai Half Marathon and Ganesh Dattaram More got the third prize of Rs. 20,000 for Live Mumbai.
