“Wait kar bido, main tereko interview doonga,” said Jackie Shroff in typical Bambaiya lingo. Shroff, natty in a black suit and Ray-Ban aviators, was in town for Thodi Life Thoda Magic and was eager to give interviews only if people weren’t so terribly confused about the movie being the Mary Poppins copy (the similar-sounding Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic).
Shroff plays a reality TV show host in Thoda Pyaar… Too bad the film’s already sunk amid the confusion about the name. “I’m not bothered,” says Shroff, “This is Sahil Chadha’s (producer) debut and he’s done a fine job.” The critics might have written him off, but Shroff has several releases lined up. He plays Sai Baba in an eponymous movie that releases in October. “I will essay the role in the most genuine manner and plan to meet some devotees,” he says. Second innings?
