In an exclusive interview with expressindia.com, Prity Bhutani talked at length about her journey so far in the tinsel town.
Q) You are too slim for a typical Punjabi girl. Is it inherited from the family?
A) No. Not at all. In fact, everyone in my family is quite healthy. It’s just that I workout regularly and eat the right food. I completely stay away from the junk food.
Q) How difficult was the start given your non-filmy background?
A) It was as difficult as it can be for any newcomer. Every newcomer goes through it. I came to Mumbai through some of my friends in New Delhi and started my career with print ads.
Q) You say you are at ease with glamour. What does glamour means to you?
A) It’s a complicated one. Well, glamour for me lies in the eyes. It’s more about how you feel and how you make others feel.
Q) So true. In this case, how your audience feel, right?
A) Yeah, absolutely.
Q) What sets Prity Bhutani apart from others?
A) Well, I am no one to comment on others. But I have my individuality. It’s about being at the right place at the right time and I deserve it.
Q) Punjabi seems to be the flavour of Bollywood. How do you plan to capitalise on this trend?
A) Bollywood consists of 70 per cent Punjabis, so I will definitely do it if I get offers. I have already done two Punjabi films with Tanuja Chandra.
Q) I hope you are comfortable with the ‘item girl’ tag?
A) Oh sure. No problem at all.
Q) Are you ready to give item girls Rakhi Sawant, Sherlyn Chopra a run for their money?
A) Rakhi Sawant is really good. She is definitely not my ideal, but I appreciate her for her raw appeal.
Q) Industry can be really tough for outsiders. Lets be candid, how has been your experience till now?
A) See, I enjoyed every bit of it. Everyday is a new surprise, sometimes shocking, sometimes pleasant.
Q) Finally, I must say you got an amazing figure and you look every inch glamorous.
A) Oh, thanks a lot. So sweet of you.
