“Mumbai Cutting is a combination of 11 films and I play the lead in one of them, which is a story based on the day monsoon flooded Mumbai,” says Sen, who is paired opposite newcomer Samreen Zaidi. While Euphoria has composed a track in the film, Sen has done something entirely different: sing item numbers. While music director Pritam persuaded him to croon naughtily in Bhojpuri for Woh Pal starring Preity Zinta, Sajid-Wajid got him to go all Bambaia in Dhoondte Reh Jaoge. “Item number is not really my sound but it was fun,” says Sen.
Bollywood, however, has not got the better of his band, which was in the Capital on Wednesday to perform at the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s new car DZire. “The band has composed a song for the car. The good thing is that it is not a jingle, it is a song,” smiles Sen.
Euphoria is also busy putting together their new album to be released in August. “About 16 songs are ready but we haven’t decided on the ones that would make it to the album,” says Sen. “It is again going to be emotional stuff.” Before that, they will release a compilation, ReDhoom, on April 1. It will feature 12 songs from their three previous albums, Dhoom, Phir Dhoom and Mehfuz. “For the first time we have included a remixed version of a track, Bhoola sab, which has a very R&B sound,” says Sen.
