A “petty” issue over car parking outside a shopping mall in central Mumbai turned into a major altercation between Bollywood ‘item girl’ Sambhavana Seth and her driver, which ended with both of them slapping each other.

The incident happened at the High Street Phoenix in Lower Parel at around 2030 hours yesterday when Seth had gone for shopping along with a friend, police said today.

V K Choudhary, the driver, was recently employed by Seth.

While alighting she asked him to remain at the same spot itself till she returns but he went to the parking lot on insistence of a private security guard.

“This infuriated Seth who started abusing him. Choudhary also answered back and it ended only after both of them slapped each other in public,” said a senior police officer of the N M Joshi Marg police station.

Both Choudhary and Seth have registered non-cognisable complaints against each other regarding the incident.

Seth has done `item numbers’ or cameos in at least seven films, including the Kareena Kapoor-starrer 36 China Town.
