She is called Lady Luck. Post his wedding, the official one that is, Sanjay Dutt looks ahead at even better times. The actor currently has on floors some big-budget movies-like Sanjay Gadhvi’s Kidnap, Abbas Mustab’s Mr Fraud, Sujoy Ghosh’s Alladin and EMI, co-produced by Suniel Shetty’s Popcorn Entertainment. Reportedly, the actor has filmmakers queuing to sign him up, and at the same time he is gearing up to wield the producer’s baton with renewed gusto with the launch of his production company, Sanjay Dutt Productions, by the middle of this year.

“I will be very busy with shooting in the coming days. There are a lot of films lined up,” Dutt says hurriedly over the phone.

“Dutt has signed nearly 27 films for various producers. He also plans to act in at least two of his home productions every year. His dates are booked till 2011,” says Dharam Oberoi, Dutt’s business manager, and CEO of his production company. Apart from his unfinished projects, Dutt is likely to act in Shree Ashtavinayak Productions’ Blue, in Ajay Chandok’s Chatur Singh Two Star and also films by Bunty Walia.

Post the Munnabhai films, Dutt’s career has been on a high. And the star actor, who was imprisoned for interim periods last year after being convicted under the Arms Act, continued with his box office success with hit films like Shootout At Lokhandwala and Dhamaal. “Currently, Sanjay Dutt commands a remuneration of Rs 2- Rs 2.5 crore for each film. He falls in the same bracket along with the likes of Ajay Devgan,” says a trade analyst. “Counting the number of films on floor right now, Dutt has Rs 175- Rs 200 crore riding on him.”

Dutt has earlier co-produced Kaante, Zinda and the more recent Shootout At Lokhandwala and Dus Kahaniyaan, but this will be his first outing after his much-publicised split with longtime friend Sanjay Gupta some months back. Directors like Milan Luthria and Ghosh have already been roped in to direct films for Dutt’s company, which will be headed by wife Maanyata.

“The films will be announced after August and they are likely to go on floors early next year,” says Oberoi. “We plan to make two-three films every year. They will be made on big budgets. We are planning to sign a number of top-rung directors.” Reportedly, talks are on with the likes of Raju Hirani and Soham Shah.

Both Luthria and Ghosh will reportedly cast Dutt in his home productions, which will have a multiple star cast. “My film will have two heroes including Sanjay. The other name is yet to be finalised and we are finalising two heroines as well,” says Luthria. “It’s a true story based on a cop’s life and is an action adventure. The film will be shot in Rajasthan next year.”

Apart from this Rs 30-crore film, Dutt is planning a venture of even bigger budget, with Luthria. “It will be a thriller,” adds Luthria. Ghosh will reportedly remake Hollywood hit Ghost Busters in Hindi for the actor’s company.
